We have NBA picks and predictions for Tuesday, April 21st, which features the Timberwolves vs. Nuggets, Hawks vs. Knicks, and Raptors vs. Cavaliers.
Our picks include a best bet and NBA same game multi, and we’re looking forward to the NBA action this week.
Raptors vs. Cavaliers Best Bet
The Cavaliers did a good job to take Game 1, and we don’t see them slowing down at home in Game 2 on Tuesday.
Bookmakers have the line at –8.5, which isn’t an easy cover, but the Cavaliers are a team capable of piling on points quickly, and even if the game is close in the fourth quarter, a few made buckets and the line is covered.
Money could come for Cleveland, so take the available line.
Raptors vs. Cavaliers SGM
Punters get $2 for Donovan Mitchell over 28.5 points, and it’s a good multi bet addition. James Harden over 20.5 points is another good multi bet addition, and the two best scorers for Cleveland could have big nights.
The Raptors and Cavaliers combined for 239 points in the opening game, so take over 223.5 points.
Hawks vs. Knicks Best Bet
We backed the Knicks –5.5 in the first game, and we see no reason to jump off their backs at Madison Square Garden.
They scored 113-102, and it was good seeing Karl-Anthony Towns and Jalen Brunson showing up on offence. It’s what the Knicks need to make a deep run in the playoffs, and their experience could pay off again.
It’s what the Hawks lack, and they could struggle to get into the series, despite showing good form during the regular season. The Knicks have much more depth, and when the bench players come on, it doesn’t get any easier for the Hawks to defend.
Hawks vs. Knicks SGM
It could be a case of rinse and repeat for Towns, who had 25 points in Game 1. It was a good performance, and he should have another big scoring night for the Knicks.
Brunson dropped 28 points, and NBA odds have him right on the line again. He could have scored a higher total, but he’s unselfish. However, he could make a statement with a 30-point game in front of a sold-out MSG crowd.
215 points were scored in the opener, but this one should be higher scoring.
Timberwolves vs. Nuggets Best Bet
Our NBA playoff predictions had Timberwolves +6.5 in Game 1, and although they lost by 11 points, it was a much closer game than what the score suggested.
The Timberwolves don’t need to improve too much to keep it close. Limited turnovers would go a long way, and ensuring Nikola Jokic doesn’t get open shots would too.
We see this game coming down to the wire, so we’re happy to front up again with the Timberwolves +6.5, and they could steal a road win.
Timberwolves vs. Nuggets SGM
Anthony Edwards scored only 22 points on Sunday, and he needs to be better. The line is 26.5 point for a reason, and if he wants to become a great player, he needs to improve his shooting in the playoffs. We’re happy to give him another chance.
Jokic had a comfortable 25 points in Game 1. He could have a similar number on Tuesday, so under 28.5 points is worth including in NBA picks.
Another low-scoring game is predicted, with the Timberwolves winning 113-108.
