NBA Tips for Thursday, April 30th 2026

We have NBA picks and predictions for Thursday, April 30th, which features the Magic vs. Pistons, Raptors vs. Cavaliers, and Rockets vs. Lakers.

The Pistons are the top seed in the East, but they’re not playing like it. They are 3-1 down in the series, and the Magic are giving them problems in all aspects of the game.

There is a belief that the Pistons will fire back to score an easy win in Game 5, but we haven’t seen enough from them to take the –9.5 line. They would need to suddenly find some outside shooting, which has deserted them.

Getting +9.5 points is a healthy start for the Magic, so it’s our best bet to kick off NBA action on Thursday.

A big scoring night from Paulo Banchero could be all the Magic needs to spring the upset. He has regained his mojo this series and we have him scoring over 21.5 points with ease.

Tobias Harris comes off a 20-point performance, so he’s living up to expectations. However, the Pistons might look towards other players to score in a desperate attempt to change the course of the series.

Over 211.5 points is a good NBA SGM addition to boost payouts.

Raptors vs. Cavaliers Best Bet

The Cavaliers are a much better team at home, as they showed when winning the first two games of the playoffs. They won by 13 and 10 points respectively, and although their trip to Toronto didn’t go as planned, being back home is a big bonus.

We expect the Cavs to deliver the goods in front of their home fans. They are 9-0 in their last nine home games against Toronto, and although that doesn’t encompass covering the spread, they usually win by a big margin.

Include the Cavaliers –8.5 in NBA picks today and expect a big bounce-back performance from the home side.

Raptors vs. Cavaliers SGM

Cavaliers -8.5, Donovan Mitchell Over 26.5 Points, RJ Barrett Under 19.5 Points, Over 215.5 Points @ $8.00

The big occasion calls for a big scoring night from Donovan Mitchell. He scored only 35 points combined from two games in Toronto, but he scored 62 points in two games in Cleveland, so back him to go over 26.5 points.

RJ Barrett has found a home in Toronto, but he could struggle on offence in Game 5. We have him scoring under 19.5 points under the pressure.

The final score could be 116-105, so we’re happy to include the over in our NBA multi bet picks.

Rockets vs. Lakers Best Bet

News broke today that Kevin Durant won’t play Game 5, which is another bitter blow for the Rockets.

We don’t think there will be a tomorrow for the Rockets, who are down 3-1, and although they saved face with a Game 4 win at home, LeBron James and the Lakers should put an end to any hope they have of extending the series.

Austin Reaves is tipped to return for the Lakers, which helps them spread the floor, and he never needs to shake off the rust. He’ll be ready to fire, and the current –4.5 line is surprising given the starting sheets.

We expected the Lakers to be at –8.5, so snap up the value line.

Rockets vs. Lakers SGM

Lakers –4.5, Austin Reaves Over 16.5 Points, LeBron James Over 7.5 Rebounds, Over 208.5 Points @ $8.50

Reaves could have a big scoring night, which would get the crowd going. He’s an elite shooter, and the 16.5-point line is worth including in NBA multis.

We also like the $2.05 for James to record over 7.5 rebounds. He had 13 boards in Game 3, and he should want to get the defensive rebound and push the ball forward.

The 208.5 points line is lower than expected, so it’s another option worth including in multis.
