The Boxing Day card is always one of the best of the year. It’s Christmas Day in the US and they have some great NBA games scheduled.
Celtics vs. Raptors, Bucks vs. 76ers and Clippers vs. Lakers are mouthwatering games and we look at the best bets for those games.
Strap in for three of the best games so far this year. Here are our NBA betting tips!
Boston Celtics vs. Toronto Raptors @ Scotiabank Arena
Not many experts thought the Raptors would have a better record than the Celtics at this stage of the season.
The 21-8 Raptors host the 20-7 Celtics in a battle of eastern conference foes. Raptors boast an 11-3 home record at Scotiabank Arena but the Celtics are always tough to beat on Boxing Day.
Both teams have found winning form coming into this game. Toronto has won their last five games, including wins over the Mavericks and Nets.
Celtics scored wins over the Mavericks, Pistons and Hornets coming into this game.
There are significant injury concerns for both teams. Celtics will likely be without Marcus Smart and Gordon Hayward, whereas the Raptors could be without Pascal Siakam.
That is a big loss as Siakam is averaging 25.1 points per game and eight rebounds. He has been their shining light this season and without him, we’re not sure they are good enough to win.
Bookmakers have the Celtics are slight $1.85 favourites and although we’re expecting a close game, we think Boston could be a fraction too good.

Milwaukee Bucks vs. Philadelphia 76ers @ Wells Fargo Centre
It’s another juicy NBA game for punters to get involved with. The Bucks visit Philadelphia for another all-eastern matchup.
Philadelphia have been playing below average of late, which includes three consecutive losses. Those came to the Nets, Heat and Mavericks.
They did, however, get back to winning form when dispatching the Washington Wizards 125-108 on Sunday.
For the east-leading Bucks, they ride a three-game winning streak. The 27-4 Bucks have beaten the Lakers, Knicks and Pacers coming into this game.
Playing on the road hasn’t been an issue for them as they hold a 12-2 away record. That’s countered by the 76ers’ 15-2 home record, but those two losses have come in the last week.
Losses to Miami and Dallas at home stopped the 76ers in their tracks. They have a great chance to redeem themselves here.
Joel Embiid is listed as day-to-day but he is expected to play.
Bookmakers have the 76ers as home favourites, which is a little surprising. We thought the superior Bucks would be the opening favourites for this game.
We can’t look past Giannis and his crew. They are playing great basketball and we’ll happily take the odds on offer.

LA Clippers vs. LA Lakers @ STAPLES Centre
It’s a tasty Boxing Day game as the battle for LA continues. The Clippers and Lakers do battle once again to decide which team rules Los Angeles.
The Lakers have looked the better so far this season but there are some injury concerns. Both LeBron James and Anthony Davis are listed as day-to-day, which is concerning for punters.
Another concern for the Lakers is their recent loss of form. They have dropped three consecutive games after a 24-3 start to the season.
Having lost to the Pacers, Bucks and Nuggets, the Lakers now need to find some revolve and get back on a winning run.
The Clippers have been inconsistent this season. They haven’t been able to string wins together recently and they didn’t look good losing to OKC on Monday.
However, the Clippers won the first game of this series and they could inflict more pain on the Lakers.
This game could all come down to which team is healthy. The Clippers have less injury concerns than the Lakers, so we’re leaning in their favour.
Bookmakers have the Lakers as –2.5 favourites and that’s to be expected. However, the Clippers are the better bet here.
Punters are getting $2.05 for the Clippers and that’s good value.
