NBA Betting Tips
Los Angeles Lakers vs. Atlanta Hawks @ State Farm Arena
The Lakers have been stumbling a little bit over the last few games, and they face a tricky opponent on Tuesday.
Los Angeles lost consecutive games to Philadelphia and Detroit before holding on to beat Boston by one point on Sunday. It was a close-run thing for the Lakers, who are now 15-6 on the season.
They face the Atlanta Hawks, who have a young team but they’re talented. Atlanta has a 10-9 record after beating Washington 116-100, and they were unlucky not to beat Brooklyn.
The 132-128 loss was tough to handle, but it should give them hope knowing they can keep up with the likes of the Nets. The Lakers are just as talented, so it will provide them with another stiff test.
After starting the season with a 10-0 away record, the Lakers have lost two of their last three on the road. A surprising loss to Detroit was the worst result of their season, and they have another away game.
It’s the Lakers’ seventh consecutive game on the road, and it could start to take its toll. Atlanta could do enough to steal this one at home.
Bet: Atlanta Hawks +6 @ $1.90 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Portland Trail Blazers vs. Milwaukee Bucks @ Fiserv Forum
Portland pulled off an incredible win over Chicago on Sunday, where Damian Lillard had 44 points. He landed two three-pointers in the last nine seconds to steal the win, and they now head to Milwaukee.
The Trail Blazers improved to 10-8, and it was much needed after losing to Oklahoma City and Houston prior. They have struggled with consistency all season, so they will be wanting to score consecutive wins.
It won’t be easy against a Bucks team that has lost two consecutive games. Losses to New Orleans and Charlotte haven’t looked good, so expect a bounce-back performance.
We’re not entirely sure the Bucks know what to do with Giannis. There is no doubting his talent, but we cringe when he takes outside shots. He needs to commit to the post, and be dominant there.
The Bucks have an 11-8 record, and even though they lead the Central standings, Indiana is right on their heels.
Milwaukee is the dominant favourite for this game, but bookmakers aren’t respecting Portland. They have an ability to knock down shots when it counts, as we saw on Sunday against the Bulls.
10 points is a lot for any team to cover, and Portland demands respect.
Bet: Portland Trail Blazers +10 @ $1.90 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Phoenix Suns vs. Dallas Mavericks @ American Airlines Center
Phoenix endured a losing streak but it got back to winning ways with victories over Golden State and Dallas.
They face off against each other again, and Dallas is hoping to overturn the six-point defeat on Sunday. The Mavericks are not performing at a high level, and five consecutive losses has them reeling.
Despite having a quality team on paper, Dallas can’t seem to get it done. They have lost to Houston, Denver, Utah and Phoenix, and the closest loss was four points.
The Suns are playing without Devin Booker, but they didn’t need the guard on Sunday. Since Booker has been out, the Suns have found ways to score, and Chris Paul is orchestrating the offence beautifully.
We expect to see an even split of money come for both teams on Tuesday. Betting against Dallas at home is never easy, but their confidence levels couldn’t be any lower.
Luka Doncic is doing enough with 27.4 points per game, but where is the help? No one else on the Mavericks is stepping up, but they will start to play well sooner rather than later.
With Booker still on the sidelines, we are going with Dallas. They are playing too bad to be true, so expect improvement in this situation.
