We have betting picks and predictions for three of the best NBA games played this Wednesday, January 13, 2021.
Quality teams are in action on Wednesday, and we preview Heat vs. 76ers, Nuggets vs. Nets, and Lakers vs. Rockets.
NBA Betting Tips
Miami Heat vs. Philadelphia 76ers @ Wells Fargo Center
Philadelphia looks to extend their 7-3 record against Miami, which needs to start showing consistency this season.
The Heat are 4-4 after beating Washington 128-124, but they haven’t been able to win back-to-back games, which is a major concern for this team.
If they are going to live up to expectations this season, Miami needs to put together winning runs, but a win over the 76ers could kick-start it.
The 76ers have dropped consecutive games after starting 7-1. Losses to Brooklyn and Denver has Philadelphia on the ropes, but unavailable players haven’t helped their cause.
They had a team of only nine against Denver, but most of the stars are back for this game. Having Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons on the floor together is crucial, and they should play against Miami.
Most of the early betting attention has been on Miami, due to the uncertainty of players suiting up for Philadelphia. However, we expect their big names to play, and they should be too good for the visitors.

Denver Nuggets vs. Brooklyn Nets @ Barclays Center
Not many punters would have expected the Nuggets and Nets to have a combined record of 10-11 at this stage of the season.
Brooklyn is one of the favourites to win the NBA Championship, but it has been a ragged start. They are 5-6 after losing back-to-back games to Memphis and Oklahoma City.
Inconsistent lineups have hurt the Nets, who will be without Kyrie Irving for the foreseeable future. However, they still have Kevin Durant, and a host of capable players.
They showed their quality when beating Utah and Philadelphia last week, but punters are showing trepidation because of their losing record.
Denver is in the same boat after posting five wins and five losses. However, they have won four of their last five games, including quality wins over Philadelphia, Minnesota, and New York.
The only loss from their last five games came against Dallas in overtime, which was a credible effort. That should give them confidence coming into this game, especially as Nikola Jokic is starting to heat up.
He is averaging 24.4 points per game, 11.2 rebounds and 10.4 assists. Averaging a triple-double is not easy, but he is making it look easy.
A close game is expected on Wednesday, but even without Kyrie Irving, we give the slight edge to Kevin Durant and the Nets.

Los Angeles Lakers vs. Houston Rockets @ Toyota Center
The Lakers are on their way to scoring consecutive NBA titles after starting this season 8-3, including an unbeaten 5-0 on the road.
LeBron James averages 24 points per game, and he is getting plenty of help from Anthony Davis. The duo is a great combination, and they look to add more pain to the struggling Rockets.
We expected Houston to struggle this season, mostly due to internal issues, and we haven’t been disappointed. They are 3-5 after losing three of their last four games.
One of those losses came to the Lakers, and it was a one-sided 120-102 loss. Other losses came to Indiana and Dallas, but they did get past Orlando by 42 points last week.
The problem for Houston is their defence, which allows the exact same number of points as their offence scores. That won’t win you many games, and it hasn’t.
Meanwhile, the Lakers score 114.5 points per game and allows 106.2. They are rebounding well, and taking care of the ball with excellent efficiency.
Punters are having a tough time betting on Houston with confidence. You never know what you’re going to expect, which isn’t the case with Los Angeles. They are a steady team that will give a good sight every game.
Take the Lakers to score back-to-back wins, and hope for value odds with bookmakers.
