We have betting picks and predictions for the NBA playoff games on Wednesday and Thursday.
Game 4 between the Milwaukee Bucks and Atlanta Hawks kicks off the action on Wednesday. Atlanta has a tough job of squaring the series, so it’s going to be an incredible game.
Thursday sees the Los Angeles Clippers and Phoenix Suns in Game Six. The Clippers have their backs against the wall, but returning to STAPLES Center will help.
We look at the best NBA betting odds for punters to enjoy.
NBA Betting Tips
Milwaukee Bucks vs Atlanta Hawks @ State Farm Arena
The Atlanta Hawks looked good when taking the opening game of the series, but they have looked anything but good since.
After winning 116-113 in Game 1, they suffered a 125-91 thrashing in Milwaukee before losing 113-102 at State Farm Arena in Game 3.
The problem for the Hawks has been offence, which isn’t something we said much during the regular season. They were one of the highest scoring teams in the Eastern Conference, so scoring totals of 102 and 91 points isn’t going to get it done come playoffs time.
The Milwaukee Bucks have found their offensive rhythm, which is bad news for the Hawks. Milwaukee has scored 113 points or more in all three playoff games, which is a solid effort.
Khris Middleton comes off a heroic performance and he is the lynchpin for the Bucks’ success. If he has a night off, the Bucks typically lose. However, he should have grown in confidence after his 38-point performance and they could be tough to stop.
Atlanta also has a concern with Trae Young, who injured himself when stepping on a referee late in the fourth quarter. He would be a huge loss for the Hawks, who rely on Young for igniting the offence, which has been lacking recently.
Bogdan Bogdanovic struggled mightily and the supporting cast needs to come up big in Game Four, otherwise the Hawks will head back to Milwaukee facing a do-or-die situation.
Bookmakers have the Bucks as firm favourites at $1.37 and –6.5 in the points spread betting. It could be a close game, but if Young is out, expect the line to shift to double-figures, so lock in the Bucks.
Bet: Milwaukee Bucks –6.5 @ $1.87 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Phoenix Suns vs Los Angeles Clippers @ STAPLES Centre
Paul George ascended to God level when lifting the Los Angeles Clippers to a 116-102 win in Phoenix on Tuesday.
Down 3-1, the Clippers needed to win and they didn’t disappoint. George had 41 points in an incredible effort and after leading by 10 points after one quarter, they never gave the Suns a look-in.
The series now moves to Los Angeles, where the Clippers could put the ultimate pressure on Phoenix, who don’t have much playoff experience in their squad.
A Clippers win on Thursday would tie the series at 3-3, forcing the Suns to close out the series at home, so it’s all to play for.
Since Chris Paul returned from injury, there hasn’t been much of an offensive rhythm for the Suns. He plays at a slower tempo, which hasn’t helped and his playoff demons could be catching up to him. Paul has never won an NBA Championship, and he doesn’t want to waste what is likely his last chance.
Money has come for the Los Angeles Clippers, which isn’t surprising. Despite not having Kawhi Leonard, they are clicking into gear and playing at home is an obvious bonus.
We like the $1.85 available and we expect that price to firm throughout the week. Los Angeles could drop to around $1.65 come game time, so take the opening odds available.
Bet: Los Angeles Clippers to win @ $1.85 – Bet @ Sportsbet
