There is no reason to jump off the Spurs’ back after a brilliant Game 1 win in overtime, where Victor Wembanyama showed why he should have been crowned MVP.

The Spurs are now 5-1 against the Thunder this season, and they’ve figured out how to beat them. They are forcing other players to beat them apart from Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, and although Alex Caruso stepped up on Tuesday, it wasn’t enough to win.

Most punters expect the Thunder to tie the series at 1-1, which is a fair assumption. However, the Spurs have shown no signs of being a mentally fragile team, unlike what we saw from the Cavaliers on Wednesday afternoon.

They’re built tough, and they have a generational talent at the helm. We don’t think there is much between the Spurs and Thunder, so we’re surprised by the +6.5 line. It’s a generous offering from bookmakers considering how well they’re playing, and it could firm to +5.5 on game day.
