The 76ers were manhandled by the Knicks when losing 137-98, and despite the result favouring the Knicks, the 76ers did some things right, so they should be better prepared for a big effort this time around.

A big reason why the 76rs struggled was the scoring of their best players. Joel Embiid had 14 points and Tyrese Maxey had 13, which wasn’t close to the 34 and 30 points they had in Game 7 against Boston. Therefore, punters should expect a better effort.

The +7.5 line is generous enough to take, and most of the early money has come for the 76ers.

We predict Embiid and Maxey bouncing back with big scoring nights. Embiid had been in fantastic form during the Boston series, and he’s crucial for the 76ers’ success. If he gets easy shots in the paint, he can post a big total.

Maxey played sheepishly in Game 1. He didn’t shoot well, and 13 points was his lowest total in some time. He’s all class, so we have him scoring over 24.5 points.

Based on our NBA predictions, we have the 76ers scoring around 110 points, which should be enough for the game to go over the 215.5-point mark.

Timberwolves vs. Spurs Best Bet

The Spurs were shocked in Game 1 by the Timberwolves, who turned up and forced the Spurs to play away from their strengths. However, despite losing home court advantage, the Spurs are far too good to allow it to happen again.

Victor Wembanyama, who is a top chance to win MVP, was held to 11 points. We can’t see that happening in consecutive games, and the Frenchman should get better scoring opportunities in Game 2.

We’re not surprised by the current spread of –9.5. Most expect the Spurs to hit back with a big performance, and the Timberwolves aren’t known for putting back-to-back big efforts together. Therefore, include Spurs –9.5 in NBA picks today before the line moves to double digits.

Timberwolves vs. Spurs SGM

Spurs –9.5, Victor Wembanyama Over 26.5 Points, De’Aaron Fox Over 17.5 Points, Over 214.5 Points @ $8.00

Wembanyama is typically a good bet, and although his Game 1 showing wasn’t good, he rarely has two poor games in a row. We have him scoring over 26.5 points, and because of his size, he gets any shot he wants.

The Spurs could also do with a big shooting night from De’Aaron Fox. The former Kings star has found his role with the Spurs, and he also needs to bounce back after scoring only 10 points on Tuesday. The 17.5-point line is worth including in NBA SGM picks.
