Saturday NBA Betting Tips
—
Brooklyn Nets vs Boston Celtics @ TD Garden
The Boston Celtics were no match for the 76ers on Thursday, but they’re good enough to bounce back against the Brooklyn Nets.
It could be a tough time for the Nets, who have suffered a lot of injuries, including Cam Thomas, Ben Simmons, Nic Claxton, and Cameron Johnson.
It’s a long list of injuries, and that’s not ideal when you come up against the Celtics, who are one of the best teams in the NBA.
Coming off consecutive losses isn’t ideal form for the Celtics, but we’re prepared to forgive both. The first came in overtime against the Timberwolves before losing to the 76ers 106-103, so it was a close effort.
We expect bookmakers to have the Celtics firm favourites, and they should win by double figures.
Bet: Boston Celtics
Minnesota Timberwolves vs San Antonio Spurs @ Frost Bank Centre
The Spurs have had an interesting year so far, including consecutive wins against the Phoenix Suns.
If that Spurs team turns up, they have a chance to beat the Timberwolves, but punters don’t know what to expect after three consecutive losses.
Minnesota is playing much better after posting four consecutive wins over the Nuggets, Jazz, Celtics, and Pelicans. Beating some of the best teams in the NBA matches up well for this contest, so that’s why bookmakers have them favoured to win.
Despite playing against Victor Wembanyama, the Timberwolves should be far too good for the Spurs given their current form.
They are the $1.36 favourites, but we’re taking them to cover the spread. It’s -5.5, which is a fair line, and they could win by double digits.
Bet: Minnesota Timberwolves –5.5 @ $1.90
Los Angeles Lakers vs Phoenix Suns @ Footprint Centre
The Suns are doing what they do best; frustrating punters.
Despite having an excellent roster, which has been changing due to injuries to the likes of Devin Booker and Bradley Beal, they have only a 4-4 record.
Losing to the Spurs in consecutive games wasn’t good enough, and it shows that Kevin Durant needs his teammates to get the job done.
Durant could be without Booker again, but with Beal on the floor, they have won their last two games, and it came at the right time.
The Suns got the better of Detroit and Chicago, including a 116-115 overtime win over the Bulls. The wins weren’t convincing, but the Lakers aren’t playing much better.
LeBron’s men have lost three on the bounce to Orlando, Miami, and Houston. They all came on the road, and playing on the road won’t help their cause.
We expect the Suns to be favourites to win, and they should continue their winning run.
Bet: Phoenix Suns
