Boston Celtics vs. Phoenix Suns @ Talking Stick Resort Arena

Before losing to the Sacramento Kings on Monday, the Boston Celtics were the hottest team in the NBA.

After dropping their first game, they went on a 10-game winning streak. It was impressive to watch and they could get back to winning form against Phoenix.

The Suns have been the real surprise package of the new NBA season to date. They have suffered some miserable seasons of late, but the 7-4 start is encouraging for the 2019/2020 season.

On the back of quality play from Devin Booker and Ricky Rubio, the Suns are rising from the ashes and their recent losses have come to quality teams.

Those losses came to Miami and LA Lakers, so we’ll forgive them for losing. They stuck gamely against the Lakers, losing late by only eight points in a tight contest.

Boston is a strong team and should be tough to beat here, but we’re surprised to see the bookmakers opening lines.

Bookmakers have the Suns as the $1.69 favourites to win. They are playing with rest and Boston is playing their third-consecutive road game, but that’s a short line.

We see value with the Celtics and they have a unit good enough to take Phoenix at home.

Tip: Houston Rockets to win @ $2.13 – Bet Now

Minnesota Timberwolves vs. Utah Jazz @ Vivint Smart Home Arena

The Minnesota Timberwolves told media not to underestimate them this season. At 7-6, we’re unsure if they’re living up to their own expectations.

Of course, it’s early in the season and they have looked good at times. They scored consecutive wins over Detroit and San Antonio to go to 7-4, but they have lost back-to-back games since.

Those losses came to Washington and Houston, where they allowed 137 and 125 points respectively. A better defensive effort should see them push the Jazz close.

Defense is a strong point of the Jazz, which are averaging just over 100 points allowed per game. That’s 18 less than the Timberwolves, but they also score 12 points less per game.

However, they force teams into bad shots and they don’t need to score 120 per game to win. That was evident when they held the 76ers (104), Bucks (100) and Warriors (108) to low totals.

Donovan Mitchell does the majority of offense with 25.4 points per game. He has been playing well in his second year in the NBA.

The Jazz have the best defensive NBA player in Rudy Gobert. He has a massive 13.6 rebounds per game and forces opposing shooters to change their shots.

It’s a big asset for the Jazz to have and it will win the 8-4 team many more games this season.

Bookmakers have the Jazz as big favourites for this game, but the points spread favours the visiting side.

10 points is a lot to cover this early in the season and the Timberwolves aren’t that bad.

Tip: Minnesota Timberwolves +10 @ $1.90 – Bet Now

Oklahoma City Thunder vs. LA Clippers @ STAPLES Centre

Expectations were high following the hot start of the LA Clippers, but they have been tamed over recent weeks.

They are 8-5 at the moment, which is a solid record but they haven’t been playing well on the road. However, their home record is much better.

The Clippers are 7-1 at home and they’re playing a Thunder team that has a few things going against them.

They are 0-4 on the road and although they have caused some upsets this season, they’re liking to struggle as the season goes on.

Oklahoma City doesn’t have any superstars, with Russell Westbrook leaving for the Houston Rockets in the offseason.

As well as a losing away record, the Thunder will be facing a Clippers team which now has a fully-fit Paul George.

George made a big impact in his first game back when Kawhi Leonard was being rested. It has been the big talking point for Leonard this season, so knowing when he’s playing is tough.

He is listed day-to-day but we’re expecting him to play. Therefore, the Clippers should be too good.

Tip: LA Clippers –8.5 @ $1.90 – Bet Now
