We have NBA picks and predictions for Thursday, October 30th, which features the Rockets vs. Raptors, Magic vs. Pistons, and Cavaliers vs. Celtics.
Our picks include a best bet and NBA same game multi, and we’re looking forward to the NBA action this week.
Rockets vs. Raptors Predictions
—
Best Bet
Not everything has gone right for the Rockets so far, but they are ready to take off after beating Brooklyn 139-109. That was an impressive performance, and with the likes of Kevin Durant and Amen Thompson on the floor, they have enough scoring power.
The Raptors won their opening game before losing three on the bounce. Those losses came against tough teams, but they weren’t overly good performances. They scored only 103 points against San Antonio, and more offence is needed.
Playing on the road isn’t easy, but we’re comfortable in backing the Rockets –4.5.
—
Same Game Multi
Kevin Durant scored only 19 points against the Nets earlier this week, but he looked good prior to that. He should get every chance to post a big total against the Raptors, which is why his line is 25.5 points. We’re happy to include the over in our NBA SGM picks.
We have been equally impressed by Alperen Sengun. He is a quality centre, and he could dominate the paint. Over 21.5 points is easily within his grasp, especially given how he has started.
Over 231.5 points is included as we think the Rockets could jack up a big score.
—
Magic vs. Pistons Predictions
—
Best Bet
The Pistons couldn’t make it three consecutive wins against the Cavaliers, and Cade Cunningham not playing well was a big reason. However, he is a quality player, and he’s the heart and soul of the improving Pistons team.
There isn’t much between the Magic and Pistons with NBA odds, with the Pistons edging favouritism at $1.87. That’s a fair price, especially with the Magic coming off three consecutive losses to the Hawks, Bulls, and 76ers.
Playing at home is ideal for the Pistons, who could spark up on Thursday.
—
Same Game Multi
The Pistons chances of winning largely depend on how well Cunningham plays but being at home should give him every chance of posting a big total. He is a quality player, and he could lead by example with over 21.5 points.
Jalen Duren is not a consistent player in the slightest, but his rebounding has been good. He grabbed 18 boards against the Celtics, and if he’s anywhere near that level, he should cash for punters.
We also have under 225.5 points in our NBA SGM picks. It should be a tight game, where defence stands out.
—
Cavaliers vs. Celtics Predictions
—
Best Bet
The Celtics showed some fight when beating New Orleans on Tuesday, but the Pelicans didn’t have Zion Williamson. That played into their hands, and it will be a much harder game against the Cavaliers, who we’re backing.
The Cavs lost their season opener to the Knicks, but they have since won three straight against the Nets, Bucks, and Pistons. Limiting the Pistons to 95 points is a great defensive effort, and they could limit the Celtics to a similar score.
Covering spreads on the road isn’t easy, but the Cavaliers are a premier Eastern Conference team, and they should take advantage of the Celtics without Jayson Tatum.
—
Same Game Multi
Donovan Mitchell is the star player for the Cavaliers, and when he scores well, they typically win the game. We have Mitchell scoring over 27.5 points, which is a fair line, and it’s good enough to boost NBA multi bets.
It could be a struggle on offence for Jaylen Brown. He knows he needs to up his scoring with Jayson Tatum out of action, but that pressure could be too much against an elite Cavs’ defence. That’s why we’re also taking under 231.5 points, in what should be a defensive battle.
