NBA Playoffs Betting Tips
Los Angeles Lakers vs. Denver Nuggets Game 1
The Lakers didn’t have much trouble getting past the Houston Rockets last week, scoring a comprehensive 4-1 series win.
Despite dropping the opening game 112-97, they bounced back with four consecutive victories. The closest the Rockets got in those four games was a 117-109 loss, so it came easy for LeBron and the Lakers.
The Lakers played poorly during the regular season bubble, but that dip in form didn’t last long. They have looked like the team to beat in the playoffs to date.
However, one of the more impressive teams has been the Denver Nuggets. They came through a seven-game series against Utah, and backed it up with another seven-game win over the Clippers.
In both series, the Nuggets faced a 3-1 deficit, so to get to the Western Conference Finals is an achievement in itself.
Jamal Murray and Nikola Jokic have spearheaded this franchise and they are easily good enough to match up with the Lakers.
Offensively, there aren’t too many holes in Denver’s game. They can match it with the best teams in the league on one side of the court, but defense is a worry at times.
Jokic is a liability on the defensive side of the court, and playing timid defense won’t work against LeBron James and Anthony Davis.
The Lakers’ stars could have a field day in the paint, so if Denver are going to keep this game close, they will need to measure up defensively.
Bookmakers have the Lakers as overwhelming favourites in the head-to-head market at $1.33. There will be more action in the points spread market, which is set at 7.5.
Punters cashed in with Denver in the Clippers’ series, as they were 7.8-8.5-point underdogs in every game. It’s a similar situation here, and we think they can keep up with the Lakers.
Game 1 is the best chance for the underdog team to score a win, so take the +7.5 in Denver’s favour.

Los Angeles Lakers vs. Denver Nuggets Game 1 exotic betting tips
Bookmakers are offering some value exotic betting markets, so we look at the best betting options for punters on Saturday,
The first basket option is always a fast-paced betting option, and it’s usually over within the first minute of the game. Our best pick is Jerami Grant @ $13, as he is often left wide-open on the wing.
Most of the defensive pressure will be applied to Murray and Jokic, and given the excellent passing ability of Jokic, he could find Grant waiting for an open shot.
The value odds are there and he could get punters off to a great start.
We also like the look of the double-double market, where most of the star players are paying short odds to record a double-double.
Jokic is the current favourite at $1.45, but we think there is value with LeBron James. There aren’t too many games where he doesn’t pull a double-double, especially at playoff.
LeBron is paying $1.57 with bookmakers, and we’re expecting him to score at least 20 points and nab 10 rebounds.
The last exotic betting market for Lakers vs. Nuggets is top points scorer. It is a competitive market, which is led by LeBron James at $2.50, and he looks like a good bet.
James is always at the forefront of the Lakers’ offense and punters are getting value odds.
Another player we would entertain is Nikola Jovic at $6.50. He can score in bunches and if he’s aggressive, he can put up 30 points on any given day.
