2019-20 NBL Round 19 – Preview, Betting Tips & Odds

We have expert betting tips for all five NBL Round 19 games this week.

Only two regular season rounds remain in the NBL and it couldn’t get much tighter on the ladder. Only one win separates the top two teams and four teams are competing for the final playoff spot.

The playoff picture will become clearer after Round 19 is finished.

NBL Round 19 Betting Tips

Friday 7/02/20

7:30pm Brisbane Bullets vs. New Zealand Breakers @ Nissan Arena

The most important game of the season is played on Friday as the Bullets and Breakers compete for a playoff spot.

With one win separating them but the Breakers holding the better points advantage, it’s too close to call at the moment.

Brisbane has been on fire of late, riding a lengthy winning streak. They scored a come-from-behind win over Melbourne United on Saturday and playing at home helps.

The Breakers have won four of their last five and they won’t see Brisbane as any different to the likes of Sydney and Perth.

Bookmakers have Brisbane as the favourites and that reflects their ability.

5:30pm Melbourne United vs. Illawarra Hawks @ Melbourne Arena

Bookmaker have Melbourne United as the $1.12 favourites to win this game. They are the better team, but they’re certainly not showing that.

A fourth loss from their last five games on Saturday, United is desperate for success. Taking on the hapless Hawks is where that success should come.

It has been a miserable season for the Hawks. It didn’t get any better when star recruit LaMelo Ball left the team and headed back to the US without notifying the team.

For Melbourne, they looked good mid-way through the season but are trending negatively. They should have beaten the Bullets last week but choked in the final quarter.

Melbourne should take this game easily, if they still believe in themselves.

8:00pm Adelaide 36ers vs. Cairns Taipans @ Adelaide Entertainment Centre

Much like the Breakers and United, the 36ers are out the outside looking in.

They suffered three consecutive losses before winning last week, but the damage was done throughout that losing streak.

They now need to win the rest of their games to have even a slight chance of the making the playoffs, and it starts with the Taipans this Saturday night.

Cairns are one of the form teams of the NBL. They have won four of their last five games and they find themselves in third position on the ladder.

It has been a conceited effort from the Taipans to play good defensive basketball, but they have also turned up on the offensive end.

We’re surprised to see the Taipans as $1.60 favourites on the road. It goes to show just how well they’re travelling.

3:00pm S.E. Melbourne Phoenix vs. Sydney Kings @ Melbourne Arena

The season stated well for the Phoenix, but the realities of playing in the tough NBL competition have caught up to them.

They are riding a long losing streak coming into this game and taking on the Sydney Kings isn’t going to help.

Sydney lost last week but they will welcome the easier opposition. They’re still vying for a top spot in the NBL and it can be achieved if results go their way.

We’re not sure if the Phoenix have anything left to offer, which puts us firmly in the camp of the Sydney Kings.

Bookmakers have set a fair line for the head-to-head market.

5:00pm Perth Wildcats vs. Brisbane Bullets @ RAC Arena

A juicy game awaits NBL fans on Sunday night as the Wildcats host the Bullets.

How Brisbane performs against the Breakers on Friday night will determine the odds for this game. However, it will be an important game none-the-less.

It’s also a big game for Perth, who needs to continue their winning run to dethrone the Sydney Kings at the top of the ladder.

With Brisbane needing to travel and play twice in the week, the advantage goes to the home side.

Bookies have the line set at 4.5 and we think that’s generous for the Wildcats.

Betting tip: Perth Wildcats –4.5 @ $1.90 Bet Now
