NBL Round 19 Tips
—
Thursday 30/1/25
7:30pm Tasmania JackJumpers vs Illawarra Hawks @ MyState Bank Arena
Most of the money has come for the Hawks, who have two wins from their last three games, but they’re looking to get back to winning form.
They are playing better than the JackJumpers, who have lost four on the bounce, and they’re falling down the NBL ladder.
The Hawks are –9.5 favourites and we’re not surprised. It’s a fair line given how these teams are playing.
Betting tip: Illawarra Hawks –9.5 @ $1.90

Friday 31/1/25
7:30pm Adelaide 36ers vs Brisbane Bullets @ Adelaide Entertainment Centre
Adelaide is one of the hottest teams in the NBL, boasting four wins from its last five games, and the Bullets are struggling to fire a shot.
The Bullets have lost four of their last five games, and confidence has never been their forte, so punters are taking a risk backing them at $4.60.
We’re backing Adelaide to win and cover the spread.
Betting tip: Adelaide 36ers –9.5 @ $1.90

9:30pm Perth Wildcats vs S.E. Melbourne Phoenix @ RAC Arena
The Wildcats look to get back to winning form after consecutive losses, and that won’t be an easy task against the in-form Phoenix, who have won four of their last five games.
However, beating Perth at RAC Arena is easier said than done, and that’s why we’re backing the Wildcats to win and cover the spread.
Punters get a fair –3.5 line and we expect Bryce Cotton to show why he’s the best scorer in the league.
Betting tip: Perth Wildcats –3.5 @ $1.90

Saturday 1/2/25
5:30pm New Zealand Breakers vs Cairns Taipans @ Spark Arena
The Taipans have suddenly come alive with three wins from their last four games, which has come out of nowhere.
We’re not sure where it came from because they were the joke team of the league for many weeks, and now they’re favoured to beat the Breakers in Auckland.
The Breakers have struggled, but they always play better at Spark Arena, and the Taipans are still at the bottom, so take the $1.92 for the Breakers.
Betting tip: New Zealand Breakers @ $1.92
Breakers by 4
8:00pm Melbourne United vs Tasmania JackJumpers @ John Cain Arena
United is playing good basketball at the right time, having posted four wins from their last five games, and they should be too good for Tasmania.
The JackJumpers aren’t the same team they were when making the finals last year, and they could struggle towards the end of this season.
United is good enough to cover the –10.5 spread.
Betting tip: Melbourne United –10.5 @ $1.90

Sunday 2/2/25
2:30pm Sydney Kings vs Perth Wildcats @ Qudos Bank Arena
Punters should expect a close game between the Kings and Wildcats on Sunday, and we’re backing the Kings to win at $1.68.
They didn’t win their last game, but they have had time to recover, and having that time to prepare for the Wildcats is ideal.
Perth has to travel, and that’s never a recipe for success.
Betting tip: Sydney Kings @ $1.68
Kings by 6
4:30pm S.E. Melbourne Phoenix vs Adelaide 36ers @ John Cain Arena
This is a good chance for the Phoenix to produce a good win against the visiting 36ers, and we’re not surprised by the odds.
The Phoenix are $1.69 favourites to post their fifth win from their last six games, and they are one of the form teams in the competition.
Punters should include the Phoenix in NBL multis.
Betting tip: S.E. Melbourne Phoenix @ $1.69
