NBL Round 8 Predictions
—
Wednesday 5/11/25
United lost their first game of the season to the Kings, and they should look to bounce back against the struggling Hawks.
After dropping their last two games, the Hawks aren’t likely to follow up their NBL title with another, and United should take advantage to post a big win on Wednesday night.
Take the –5.5 line in what could be a blowout.

The Breakers got back to their best basketball with a win over the Hawks, and it was a one-sided affair. That could be enough to spark them back into life, and the 36ers don’t always travel well to New Zealand.
It won’t be an easy game for the home side, with Adelaide coming off three wins from its last four games. However, if New Zealand can slow down Bryce Cotton, it has every chance of causing an upset.
It could down to the final quarter, and we’re picking the Breakers to prevail.

The Phoenix are one of the best teams in the NBL, so we’re surprised by the current line. They have produced four consecutive wins, and they have beaten some of the toughest teams in the competition.
Consistency is lacking with the JackJumpers, and that makes them a hard bet. They have three losses from their last four games, and although they have plenty of talent, it hasn’t been enough to produce consistent wins.
Snap up the –1.5 line for the better team.

Friday 7/11/25
It could be a tough week for the Hawks, and playing on the road in Cairns won’t help their chances.
The Taipans haven’t played well this season, but they got their confidence back with a win last week, and that could reignite their year.
We’re happy with the current line available for the home side.

Saturday 8/11/25
We’re picking Tasmania to lose its opening game this week, but the JackJumpers could bounce back with a top effort.
They face the equally inconsistent Brisbane Bullets, who are great one day and poor the next, so it’s a tough game to predict. However, the home team should show up for its home fans, and we’re banking on that.
Include the –4.5 line in NBL multi bets.

It’s the battle of Melbourne as the Phoenix take on United. We believe United are currently the best team, but we’re backing the Phoenix to pull off an upset.
They could make a statement to the rest of the league on Saturday, and getting $2.30 is a fair price from bookmakers.
The Phoenix has enough depth to handle United, and they have momentum on their side.

Sunday 9/11/25
Returning home could be enough for the 36ers to put a win on the board, and the Wildcats have been too inconsistent recently.
The Wildcats have traded wins and losses over the last five games, but the 36ers have been in better form, and that’s why they are firm favourites to win.
Include the 36ers in NBL multi bets this week.

The Kings play their first game of the round, and they should be well-rested and ready to handle the Breakers.
They come off an emotional win to hand United its first loss of the season, and it showed that the Kings are a threat for the championship.
They’re good enough to cover the –4.5 spread.
