There hasn’t been much respect for the Detroit Lions with NFL odds, but we have them making a deep run in the NFL playoffs.

They have played well over the last couple of years since Jared Goff took over at quarterback, and his efficiency could be enough for the Lions to win the Super Bowl and cause an upset over the highly favoured Los Angeles Rams.

The Rams are paying $6 to win, with a quarterback who is 38 years old. We don’t want any part of those odds, regardless of how well their roster looks. There is better value with the Lions at $17, so include them in NFL predictions this season.

The New England Patriots made the Super Bowl last year with Drake Maye at quarterback, and although they came up short against the Seattle Seahawks, we see that season as a huge positive.

The make the Super Bowl with a young squad was a great achievement, and it’s not talked about enough. Everyone talks about Maye’s performance in the Super Bowl as if they expected to see prime Tom Brady, but his stock should continue to rise.

He has more experience under his belt, and we see no reason why the Patriots won’t be a factor in the NFL playoffs again. They’re well-coached, and the $19 to win Super Bowl LXI is too good to turn down.

NFL Regular Season MVP

Josh Allen @ $6.00

It’s tough to look past Josh Allen in MVP markets, and although there are some quality players in the market, he’s always fancied by voters.

Allen is a regular-season beast, and he puts up awesome numbers. His level of play dips in the playoffs, and the Bills have a long association with choking in the playoffs, but MVP bettors won’t care, as this is a regular-season award.

He won the 2024 MVP title before Matthew Stafford won last year. He’ll be keen to get his title back, and the Bills should put together a good record, which will help his cause.

NFL Offensive Player of the Year

Jahmyr Gibbs @ $6.50

We’re backing our Lions and going with Jahmyr Gibbs to win Offensive Player of the Year at $6.50.

The running back comes off a big year for the Lions, and given the way their offence plays, he will get plenty of opportunities to carve out rushing yards.

He’s a dynamic runner of the ball, and he’s benefiting from the Lions’ system. They have an excellent offensive line, which gives Gibbs and Goff plenty of time in the pocket, which is why we like them to win the Super Bowl.

It’s also why we like Gibbs to win Offensive Player of the Year, and he’s the favourite for good reason.

NFL Defensive Player of the Year

Aidan Hutchinson @ $8.25

Aidan Hutchinson is another Lions player who could dominate on the defensive side of the ball.

We’re going heavy with Lions players, but Hutchinson is a quality defensive player, and we’re picking him to have a big season.

The 26-year-old defensive end set all sorts of personal records last season, including total tackles, solo tackles, assists, and sacks. He ended the year with 14.5 sacks, and if he’s anywhere near that number, he could win Defensive Player of the Year.

The $8.25 odds are good enough to include in NFL picks.

Fernando Mendoza Passing TDs

Our best NFL prop bet is Fernando Mendoza over 11.5 passing touchdowns.

The #1 draft pick plays for the Las Vegas Raiders, and although the former Indiana player will improve with time, he could get his career started with a bang.

We like his short passing game, and he could throw plenty of touchdowns in the red zone. That’s where he excels, and he has a good receiving group in Las Vegas.

His line is low, especially considering a player like Geno Smith is set at 17.5 touchdowns, so take the hottest commodity to have over 11.5 touchdowns.
