The MasterChef Australia universe continues to roll on with a new series, featuring contestants that have previously come close to winning.
It’s a star-studded lineup of former contestants, with many now working in the food industry. However, some of the contestants didn’t continue their food dream. For them, it’s a second chance at impressing the judges.
Don’t expect to see George, Gary, or Matt this season. The controversy surrounding George has seen three new judges come into the mix. Jock Zonfrillo, Melissa Long, and Andy Allen serve as judges.
It’s a wide-open competition and we look at the best betting opportunities for punters.
MasterChef Betting Tips
MasterChef Australia Winner – Poh Ling Yeow
Poh returns after finishing runner-up in Series 1 of MasterChef Australia. She has undergone a big transformation since that day, but she’s the current favourite to win.
The current chef, actress, and TV presenter is one of the oldest contestants at 46, but most remember her as a fresh-faced cook in 2009.
Fast-forward 11 years and Poh is still going strong. Her experience gives her the edge over the other contestants, hence her odds.
She’s paying $3.50 to win, which is on the shorter side of value. However, she should give punters a good sight.

MasterChef Australia Next Best – Tessa Boersma
Coming off the most recent MasterChef series if Tessa Boersma. The social media star proved her cooking ability last season, and she’s every chance of winning this competition.
She’s only 28, and her youth proved to be her advantage in Series 11. She was able to create new dishes, which wowed the judges.
The Queenslander has remained a cook since the filming of Series 11, and she will be full of confidence heading into Back to Win.
Tessa is a great value pick at $7.25 and as the season progresses and her dishes shine, expect those odds to come crashing down.

MasterChef Australia Best Value – Callum Hann
A fan favourite, Callum Hann rose to stardom when competing in Series 2 of MasterChef. He was only a youngster at the time, but he was mature beyond his years.
Now, a 30-year-old, Hann is out to show off his newly-acquired cooking skills. The restauranteur has been busy since appearing on MasterChef, which includes releasing a book, running a restaurant, and becoming a father in 2019.
He has appeared as a guest mentor in past seasons, which is also going to help his chances of winning Back to Win.
Callum always brings a smile and he could bring a smile to punters’ faces this season. He’s the clear value pick.

MasterChef Australia Upset Pick – Amina Elshafei
Amina showed off her cooking skills in Series 4, and she has since released a book of her best recipes.
Despite not moving into the world of cooking and staying as a paediatric nurse, Amina is well worth including in selections.
Her ability to cook authentic cuisine won the judges over, and that’s likely to happen again. You won’t see classic French dishes from Amina, but you will see flavoursome Asian dishes.
It wouldn’t be a huge upset to see her winning at odds of $9.50, but she’s not the most popular pick. However, we think Amina will go deep into the competition and the odds should firm.
Bet: Amina Elshafei ($9.50) @ Sportsbet.com.au – Bet Now
MasterChef Australia Longshot – Sarah Tiong
We’re surprised to see Sarah at such long odds. She was a quality contestant in Series 9, which was taken out by superstar Diana Chan.
Sarah was eliminated as a top-10 contestant, and her food stood out from the crowd. She got a little unlucky not to progress further, but she gets her chance now.
The lawyer and restauranteur is worth including in selections.
