Broncos vs. Sharks Predictions

The NRL continues with Round 18 action between the Broncos vs. Sharks on Saturday, July 4 at 7:35pm at Suncorp Stadium.

The Broncos have little chance of defending their title, and the Sharks could add to their pain with a win on Saturday night.

The Broncos had their chance to beat the Roosters last week, but they were starved of possession in the second half of the 24-18 loss.

Looking to capitalise on the Broncos’ losing streak are the Sharks, who ended their winning streak against Roosters. The 27-8 loss was a shock to the system, but it highlighted what the Sharks need to work on to make a title run.

They looked much better when scoring an upset win over the Warriors 10-8. It was a much better defensive performance, and although they might have got lucky at times, it was a confidence-building performance.

We have little confidence in the Broncos, especially without their Origin players. Most of the money has come for the Sharks to win, and they should cover the –7.5 spread, as the Broncos are close to give-up mode.

Ronaldo Mulitalo has been excellent since returning from injury. He has three tries from his last three games, and gives the Sharks attack a much-needed boost. The $1.58 odds to score are short, but they boost NRL SGM odds.

The odds for William Kennedy to score a try are much healthier. He is a $2.75 chance to score for the Sharks, and with two tries from his last five games, we’re happy to take the risk and include him in the multi bet.

It should be an open scoring contest, where we have the Sharks winning 30-20, so include over 48.5 points.

Siosifa Talakai Anytime Try Scorer @ $6.50

Sosifa Talakai is a big unit, and although he doesn’t have any recent tries on his record, he could crash over from short range on Saturday.

He is a tough player to stop close to the line, and although he’s not a name that comes to mind when thinking of try scorers, he deserves a try for his hard work.

Look for him to crash onto a short pass for a four-pointer.
