Bulldogs vs. Cowboys Predictions – NRL Round 9 2026

The NRL continues with Round 9 action between the Bulldogs vs. Cowboys on Friday, May 1 at 6:00pm at Accor Stadium.

Kicking the week off is the Bulldogs vs. Cowboys, and although early in the year, shapes as an important game for both clubs.

Best Bet

Cowboys @ $2.10

The Cowboys aren’t an easy team to predict, but we love the way they bounced back from a heavy loss to the Sea Eagles with a win over the Sharks last week.

When their offence clicks, they’re one of the best teams in the NRL, and the Bulldogs could struggle to keep up as the $1.70 favourites. We rated the Bulldogs as underdogs after losing four of their last five games, and they have scored only 32 points in two games since upsetting Penrith.

Just when it looked like that win was going to springboard their season, losses to Parramatta and Brisbane have set them back. Based on their form, we can’t back the Bulldogs, so include the Cowboys at $2.10 in NRL picks this week.

Same Game Multi

Cowboys H2H, Braidon Burns Anytime Try Scorer, Scott Drinkwater Anytime Try Scorer, Under 53.5 @ $9.50

Braidon Burns and Scott Drinkwater scored a try last week against the Sharks, and when they’re playing well, the Cowboys are awfully tough to stop.

Burns has four tries from his last four games, and Drinkwater has three in the same span. They are key players for the Cowboys, and punters get $1.88 and $2.25 respectively, which gives a nice boost to NRL SGM odds.

We’ve included under 53.5 points on the basis of the Bulldogs struggling to score. They had only 12 points last week, and they could score under 20 points on Friday.

Best Value Bet

Cowboys 1-12 @ $3.30

Punters get lovely odds for the Cowboys 1-12, which pays a healthy $3.30 with bookmakers.

There is always a chance of either team winning by 13+, but it should be a game decided by less than two converted tries, and we have the Cowboys toughing it out for a win.

We priced this option at around $2.80, and with money likely to come for the visitors, it could pay to jump on before the odds shorten. We predict their head-to-head odds to firm to $1.90 on game day, which will see the 1-12 move to around $2.90.
