Cowboys vs. Sharks Predictions – NRL Round 8 2026

The NRL continues with Round 8 action between the Cowboys vs. Sharks on Friday, April 24 at 6:00pm at Queensland Country Bank Stadium.

One of the best games of the week kicks off action on Friday, where the Sharks are slight favourites on the road.

Best Bet

Sharks –2.5 @ $1.90

The Sharks lost their last game to the Roosters, but that came before a bye, so they’re fresh and ready to hand the Cowboys consecutive losses.

After going through a good patch of form, the Cowboys came crashing back down to earth last week with a heavy loss to Manly. It was a terrible performance, and their first-half completion rate was the worst in NRL history.

The Sharks have won 14 of their last 16 games against the Cowboys, which is an outstanding statistic for punters jumping on the Sharks. It could be happy days for punters, and although the –2.5 line can be tricky at times, we have them winning by 6-8 points.

Nicho Hynes recently appeared on The Late Show with Matty Johns, and he was extremely confident of his Sharks team going forward, so it could pay to follow them over the next few weeks.

Same Game Multi

Sharks -2.5, Sam Stonestreet Anytime Try Scorer, William Kennedy Anytime Try Scorer, Under 53.5 @ $8.50

Sam Stonestreet scored in back-to-back games earlier this season, and although he hasn’t scored in two games since, we expect that to change. He’s a good finisher, and with the Cowboys’ defence in tatters, the $1.75 odds to score are worth including in NRL SGM picks.

William Kennedy always pays value odds to score a try. He has three tries from his last three games, including a double against the Warriors. Punters get $2.20, which boosts our multi bet odds nicely.

Under 53.5 is a good addition. The Sharks could score around 30 points, but the Cowboys scored only one try last week, and when their confidence levels are down, they don’t often produce good attack.

Best Value Bet

Sharks 1-12 @ $3.10

The Sharks are $1.72 to win outright, so the $3.10 odds to win 1-12 is a good price from bookmakers.

Whilst we give the Sharks the clear edge, they can win by 10-12 points and still dominate the game, so we’re snapping up the generous odds.
