Knights vs. Rabbitohs Predictions – NRL Round 9 2026

The NRL continues with Round 9 action between the Knights vs. Rabbitohs on Sunday, May 3 at 2:00pm at McDonald Jones Stadium.

We expected more separation in betting markets, but there has been good betting support for the Knights.

Best Bet

Rabbitohs –1.5 @ $1.90

The return of Kayln Ponga and Dylan Brown for the Knights is great, but we think the Rabbitohs will still have too much power for them.

Newcastle has lost eight of its last nine games at McDonald Jones Stadium, and despite many of those games coming without their star players, it’s hard to turn around a losing culture, and it might take more than a week.

South Sydney won four wins from its last five games, including a 48-6 thrashing of the Melbourne Storm last week. That was a huge performance from the Rabbitohs, who look like a top four contender this year.

With money coming for the Knights, punters get a value –1.5 line for Souths, and it’s too hard to pass up.

Same Game Multi

Rabbitohs -1.5, Latrell Mitchell Anytime Try Scorer, Campbell Graham Anytime Try Scorer, Under 52.5 @ $8.25

Tries have come freely for the Rabbitohs, who have scored 30+ points in their last four games. Those tries have come from the likes of Latrell Mitchell and Campbell Graham, who we’re betting on.

Mitchell has eight tries from his last five games, including four tries against the Dragons. The $1.83 odds are a good multi bet addition.

Graham scored a double last week, and although he only finished off the tries, his confidence levels are up. He’s a strong finisher at his best, so our NRL SGM bets are happy to include him.

Under 52.5 points is included based on our expectations of the Knights struggling to score.

Best Value Bet

Alex Johnston First Try Scorer @ $6.50

Alex Johnston is the most successful try scorer in the NRL, and he’s showing no signs of slowing down.

The Rabbitohs winger is at short odds to score a try at anytime, but the $6.50 odds are worth taking with first try scorer markets.

He has six tries from his last five games, including an early try last week, so he is worth including in NRL picks this week as a value bet.
