We do the form for every Round 11 game and pick best NRL bets.
NRL Round 11 Tips
7:50pm North Queensland Cowboys vs Newcastle Knights @ Bank Stadium
The Knights struggle without Kayln Ponga and that was evident in their 36-18 loss to the Tigers last week.
It was a one-sided affair and they never looked likely, so a turnaround is needed against the Cowboys. North Queensland stuck with the Roosters, but the class difference showed late.
There won’t be much between these teams, but with home ground advantage, we’re going with the Cowboys.
Betting tip: North Queensland Cowboys to win @ $1.55 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Cowboys by 4
6:00pm New Zealand Warriors vs Wests Tigers @ Central Coast Stadium
New Zealand made a credible comeback against the Parramatta Eels, but the first half was a shocker. They were completing at around 50% and that’s not going to cut it.
The Tigers looked excellent against the Knights, but the level of opposition increases here. It should be a competitive game between teams that need to start making moves.
We give the edge to the Warriors, who should look to inject Walsh a lot more in the offence.
Betting tip: New Zealand Warriors –5.5 @ $1.90 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Warriors by 6
7:55pm Cronulla Sharks vs St George Dragons @ Netstrata Jubilee Stadium
The Dragons got walloped by the Storm 44-18 and they’re not the same team they were at the start of the season.
Getting a red card in the first half didn’t help their cause, but they will be hoping to find a spark against the hapless Sharks.
Cronulla suffered another loss last week and there is a distinct lack of confidence in the squad. Shaun Johnson is being blamed, but there are bigger issues at play.
Take the Dragons to bounce back against an easier opponent.
Betting tip: St George Dragons to win @ $1.80 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Dragons by 10
3:00pm Gold Coast Titans vs Canterbury Bulldogs @ Cbus Super Stadium
It was meant to be a breakout season for Gold Coast, but after another heavy defeat, it needs to pick up the pieces.
The Titans were no match for the Panthers, losing 48-12 in a thrashing. They will have an easier game against the Bulldogs, but they played well to push Canberra close last week.
Bookmakers have 13.5 points between them, and while the Titans are the better outfit, we don’t think the margin will be that large.
Betting tip: Canterbury Bulldogs +13.5 @ $1.90 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Titans by 8
5:30pm Sydney Roosters vs Brisbane Broncos @ SCG
Injuries haven’t helped the Sydney Roosters this season, but they should account for teams like the Brisbane Broncos.
They looked good last week and the Broncos are filling one of the bottom two spots on the NRL ladder. It has been an awful season for the Broncos and we can’t see it improving.
Sydney is the firm favourite to win and it should be a one-sided affair.
Betting tip: Sydney Roosters –17.5 @ $1.90 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Roosters by 20
7:35pm Canberra Raiders vs Melbourne Storm @ GIO Stadium
Melbourne continues its quest for another NRL title and it’s a firm favourite to beat the Canberra Raiders on Saturday.
The Storm come off a stellar win over the Dragons and the Raiders come off a nail biting two-point win over the Canterbury Bulldogs.
There is something wrong with the Raiders this season and the Storm are likely to pounce on them and put up a big score.
Betting tip: Melbourne Storm –12.5 @ $1.90 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Storm by 16
2:00pm South Sydney Rabbitohs vs Penrith Panthers @ Apex Oval
Two top four teams battle as the Panthers look to remain unbeaten after Round 11.
Penrith has dispatched of allcomers and the South Sydney Rabbitohs could become the next victim. The Rabbits have also looked good and having Adam Reynolds back in the team helps.
Bookmakers have 8.5 points between them, which is a sizable line. South Sydney is capable of covering the spread, but Penrith is rolling and it could score a double-digit victory.
Betting tip: Penrith Panthers –8.5 @ $1.90 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Panthers by 12
4:05pm Parramatta Eels vs Manly Sea Eagles @ Bankwest Stadium
The Eels dispatched of the New Zealand Warriors on Sunday and another tough test awaits as the Sea Eagles come to town.
Manly has been electric since Tommy Turbo got back in the team. He has kick-started them and they’re good enough to beat the second-placed Eels.
Punters are getting 5.5 points for Manly and we think it should be tough to hold out.
Betting tip: Manly Sea Eagles +5.5 @ $1.90 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Eagles by 2
