NRL Round 16 Tips
Thursday 1/07/21
7:50pm Sydney Roosters vs Melbourne Storm @ McDonald Jones Stadium
The Roosters might be in fifth position on the NRL ladder, but they’re not playing at a high standard.
Getting Origin players back in the team helps, but they were manhandled by the Penrith Panthers and they could suffer the same fate against Melbourne.
The Storm have taken over the top spot and they could be in the mood for another big victory.
Betting tip: Melbourne Storm –11.5 @ $1.90 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Friday 2/07/21
6:00pm New Zealand Warriors vs St George Dragons @ Central Coast Stadium
The Warriors have slipped down the ladder and the injury to Reece Walsh won’t help their situation.
They couldn’t muster much in Round 15, and although the Dragons aren’t a top-tier team, they could struggle to win.
St George are the outsiders for this contest, which is surprising. They are seventh on the ladder and are travelling better than their trans-Tasman rivals.
Take the value with the Dragons.
Betting tip: St George Dragons @ $2.25 – Bet @ Sportsbet

7:55pm Penrith Panthers vs Parramatta Eels @ BlueBet Stadium
The Panthers struggled during Origin, but most of their top players were missing, so we’re not surprised.
They are no longer at the top of the table and beating Parramatta isn’t going to be easy. However, bookmakers have the margin at 10.5 points, which is sizable.
The Panthers have the advantage of playing at home and with the likes of Nathan Cleary and Jarome Luai back, they should be too strong.
Betting tip: Penrith Panthers –10.5 @ $1.90 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Saturday 3/06/21
3:00pm Canterbury Bulldogs vs Manly Sea Eagles @ Bankwest Stadium
Canterbury comes off a rare win, but we’re not expecting that form to continue for too much longer.
Manly is a much tougher opponent and with Tommy Turbo firing on all cylinders, they should prove miles too good for the Doggies.
Covering a 20.5-point spread isn’t easy, but the Sea Eagles are excellent on offence and they’ll be keen to continue their winning ways.
Betting tip: Manly Sea Eagles –20.5 @ $1.90 – Bet @ Sportsbet

5:30pm Canberra Raiders vs Gold Coast Titans @ GIO Stadium
Not much has gone right for the Raiders and the Titans this season. They were expected to make the playoffs, but some work is still needed.
Canberra is in 10th position after mixed recent form, and the Titans have fallen further down the ladder at 13th.
The Raiders are a team with slightly more upside and they have the experience edge. That could factor into this game, so we’re picking a home victory.
Betting tip: Canberra Raiders –7.5 @ $1.90 – Bet @ Sportsbet

7:35pm Newcastle Knights vs North Queensland Cowboys @ McDonald Jones Stadium
The Knights are the favorites to beat the Cowboys, but we think there could be an upset on the cards.
North Queensland might be outside the top eight, but the potential is there and getting Origin players back on the field helps.
Punters shouldn’t overlook the $2.35 available with bookmakers, as the Knights don’t reflect a $1.60 chance.
Betting tip: North Queensland Cowboys @ $2.35 – Bet @ Sportsbet

Sunday 4/06/21
2:00pm Brisbane Broncos vs Cronulla Sharks @ Suncorp Stadium
Life isn’t easy for a Broncos fan right now. They are last on the NRL ladder and there doesn’t appear to be any plan of attack.
They now face a Sharks team that has had some recent success, so they won’t be easy to beat. Cronulla is currently inside the top eight and it’s capable of staying there.
Punters get value odds for the visitors and we wouldn’t put much trust in the Broncos until they get their act together.
Betting tip: Cronulla Sharks @ $1.39 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Sharks by 6
—
4:05pm Wests Tigers vs South Sydney Rabbitohs @ Leichhardt Oval
The Rabbitohs are expected to run all over the Tigers and we find that tough to disagree with.
They are one of the form teams in the competition and they hammered the Brisbane Broncos 46-0 in Round 15.
Wests were beaten 66-16 by the Melbourne Storm, so coming back from that won’t be easy and we can’t see it happening.
Take the Rabbitohs to cover the large spread.
Betting tip: South Sydney Rabbitohs –19.5 @ $1.90 – Bet @ Sportsbet
Rabbitohs by 28
