NRL Round 19 Tips

Thursday 22/07/21

7:50pm Parramatta Eels vs Canberra Raiders @ Cbus Super Stadium

The Eels made the Gold Coast Titans look second rate last week and that form bodes well against the Canberra Raiders on Thursday.

The 26-8 win showed their premiership ambitions and although the Raiders looked good beating the Sharks, it’s a steep rise in class for this contest.

Covering a 11.5-point spread isn’t easy, but the Eels should have too much power.

Betting tip: Parramatta Eels –11.5 @ $1.90Bet @ Sportsbet

Friday 23/07/21

6:00pm Sydney Roosters vs Newcastle Knights @ Sunshine Coast Stadium

The Roosters faced an uphill battle early against the Cowboys last week but they responded with three tries before the halftime break.

It wasn’t the most comprehensive performance from the struggling outfit, but it keeps the Roosters in contact with the top four.

Newcastle suffered a 48-4 loss to Melbourne and that’s going to be tough to come back from. However, we expect them to play better on Friday and they could cover the spread.

Betting tip: Newcastle Knights +9.5 @ $1.90Bet @ Sportsbet

7:55pm North Queensland Cowboys vs Melbourne Storm @ County Bank Stadium

The Cowboys looked set to cause an upset against the Roosters, but as soon as Jason Taumalolo goes off the field, they crumble.

Despite having a 12-0 lead and looking set to increase the led, the Cowboys managed to give up the lead before halftime and it’s a growing trend.

However, we don’t think they’ll be good enough to lead the Storm, who are tearing the opposition apart this season. Another comfortable win looks likely and they should cover the huge spread.

Betting tip: Melbourne Storm –23.5 @ $1.90Bet @ Sportsbet

Saturday 24/07/21

3:00pm South Sydney Rabbitohs vs New Zealand Warriors @ Sunshine Coast Stadium

The Rabbitohs took their time to find top gear against the Bulldogs in Round 18, but it wasn’t a convincing display.

They were helped by a halftime yellow card and they quickly pounced with eight points after the break. However, they shouldn’t have struggled against Canterbury.

New Zealand played well against Penrith, but they suffered numerous key injuries and that’s not going to help their chances on Saturday. South Sydney should capitalise on it and score an easy win.

Betting tip: South Sydney Rabbitohs –15.5 @ $1.90Bet @ Sportsbet

5:30pm Manly Sea Eagles vs Wests Tigers @ Suncorp Stadium

Despite facing a halftime deficit, the Manly Sea Eagles hit back straight after halftime and put the Dragons to bed.

It was another strong outing for the Sea Eagles, who were without their State of Origin stars. That won’t be the case this week as they face the Tigers.

The Wests come off a 42-24 smashing of the Brisbane Broncos, which should give them confidence. However, the Sea Eagles are a different beast and they’ll be much harder to beat.

Bookies have the line at 16.5 points, which the Tigers should cover. We expect a closer game than the market reflects.

Betting tip: Wests Tigers +16.5 @ $1.90Bet @ Sportsbet

Sea Eagles by 12

7:35pm Penrith Panthers vs Brisbane Broncos @ Suncorp Stadium

The season went from bad to worse for the Brisbane Broncos when losing heavily to the Tigers on Sunday. It was another disappointing effort from this once great team.

Penrith got back the New Zealand Warriors, but it wasn’t the most convincing performance. Not having Nathan Cleary and Jerome Luai is a big thing for the Panthers, but they’ll have too much firepower for the hapless Broncos.

It’s technically a Panthers home game, but the Broncos will enjoy playing at home. However, it shouldn’t have much difference to the result.

Betting tip: Penrith Panthers –16.5 @ $1.90Bet @ Sportsbet

Sunday 25/07/21

1:50pm St George Dragons vs Gold Coast Titans @ Cbus Super Stadium

The Titans continued to disappoint and that was a poor effort against the Parramatta Eels last Friday night.

They were highly regarded to start the season but nothing is going right for the Titans and they could struggle to beat the Dragons, who were also disappointing. The Dragons suffered a 32-18 loss to Manly and they were cut open in the second half.

Trusting either team isn’t easy, but there is market support with the Titans and we’re backing it.

Betting tip: Gold Coast Titans –4.5 @ $1.90Bet @ Sportsbet

Titans by 6

4:05pm Canterbury Bulldogs vs Cronulla Sharks @ Cbus Super Stadium

A brain snap could have cost the Bulldogs a rare win against the South Sydney Rabbitohs, but we’ll never know what could have happened.

The Bulldogs must now focus on the Sharks, who were put to the sword against Canberra last week and they’re barely holding onto a top eight spot.

It was another untimely loss for the Sharks, but they enjoy bouncing back and that’s what is expected to close Round 19.

Betting tip: Cronulla Sharks –12.5 @ $1.90Bet @ Sportsbet

Sharks by 16
