Sharks vs. Wests Tigers Predictions – NRL Round 9 2026

The NRL continues with Round 9 action between the Sharks vs. Wests Tigers on Sunday, May 3 at 4:05pm at Ocean Protect Stadium.

Big bets have come for the Sharks, who host a Tigers team making headlines throughout the week.

Best Bet

Sharks –7.5 @ $1.90

Most of the talk during the week was about Larome Luai leaving for PNG in 2028, and it remains to be seen how that will affect the Tigers on the field.

We fancy the Sharks to come out with a much better performance this week after losing their last two. They scored plenty of points, but were beaten by the Roosters and Cowboys, so their defence needs to measure up.

With nine wins from their last 10 matches at Ocean Protect Stadium, that should give punters confidence in taking the Sharks to win and cover the spread. This is a pivotal game for them, and another loss could see their season spiral out of control.

There has been good money for the Sharks, which is a good sign.

Same Game Multi

Sharks -7.5, Siosifa Talakai Anytime Try Scorer, KL Iro Anytime Try Scorer, Over 52.5 @ $8.50

Siosifa Talakai scored a double last week and he’s growing in confidence. He’s a power runner close to the line, and punters get $2.15 for the Sharks player to score a try this week.

We also like KL Iro to score at $1.84. He had his best game of the season last week with three tries, and although it came in a losing effort, it’s good seeing him cash in for punters.

They combined for only 38 points in their recent meeting, but there should be more points scored here. Defence has taken a backseat, so expect plenty of tries on Sunday afternoon.

Best Value Bet

KL Iro 2+ Tries @ $5.00

We are backing Iro to keep his scoring run going with 2+ tries. He had three last week, and with five tries in his last five games, he’s riding the wave of momentum.

There should be plenty of tries scored against the Tigers, who have defending well in 2026, but they’re due a poor performance.

It’s likely to come at this stadium, where they don’t have a good record, and Iro could take advantage with a double.
