Australia vs Serbia Prediction & Tips

We picked Australia to beat Greece in its last game, but we couldn’t have been more disappointed.

The offence could get anything going, scoring just 71 points in a 77-71, and now the Boomers need to rebound against a tough Serbia team.

Australia started their Olympic campaign with a gutsy win over Spain, and that put them in a good position to make the medal matches. However, after loses to Canada and Greece, they’re on the outside looking in.

Serbia lost to USA in its first game before scoring wins over Puerto Rico and South Sudan. They aren’t the hardest teams to beat, but Nikola Jokic is causing problems for opposing defences, and he could cause Australia plenty of problems.

We don’t see how the Boombers are going to defend the NBA MVP, and that’s why Serbia is the current favourite to win the game.

Serbia is currently paying $1.34 to win outright, with Australia at $3.30. The line is 6.5 points, which is a sizable start for the Australians, and it should be enough to cover.

Australia, while being disappointing so far, has toughness on its side. It’s good enough to keep it close given the circumstances, and it just needs a scorer to get hot.

Jokic is paying $1.82 to score over 21.5 points, and those odds are also too good to overlook. We think Australia covers the spread, but Jokic should be the top scoring player in the game, so the line is better than expected.
