Springboks vs. Pumas Predictions – Rugby Championship Week 5 2025

We have Springboks vs. Pumas predictions for the Rugby Championship game on Sunday September 28 at 2:10 am.

Punters get an early money game to enjoy as South Africa hosts the pesky Argentinians, who seek an upset at King’s Park Stadium.

South Africa vs. Argentina Predictions

Best Bet

Springboks –16.5 @ $1.90

It’s not easy to cover a –16.5 spread in the Rugby Championship, but we can’t see the Pumas scrum holding up against the Springboks. Therefore, almost every scrum could result in a penalty to the home side.

If that’s the case, it will be a long night for the visitors, who have played well in 2025, but they haven’t shown too much consistency. Their running style of rugby won’t work against a tough Springboks defence coming off a record win over the All Blacks.

The Springboks will send up many high bombs, which Argentina could struggle to confuse. We predict a few yellow cards for Argentina as well, so back the Springboks to score another comprehensive victory.

Same Game Multi

Springboks –16.5, Cheslin Kolbe Anytime Try Scorer, Canan Moodie Anytime Try Scorer, Over 54.5 @ $12.00

Cheslin Kolbe is always a good chance to score a try based on his speed alone. He has elite pace, and the Pumas defence could have a tough time slowing him down in what should be an open running contest.

The odds for Kolbe to score a try aren’t massive, but they’re good enough to boost Springboks vs. Pumas SGM odds, so we’re including him. We also like Canan Moodie to score in the centres. He is a good power runner, and there should be many tries scored by the home side.

Over 54.5 is included, and most of the points should come for South Africa. The final score could be around 42-18.

Best Value Bet

Total Tries Over 7.5 @ $1.90

We can’t see too many penalties being kicked, especially from South Africa, so there should be over 7.5 tries.

The home team could score between 5-6, let alone accounting for a few tries from Argentina. It’s a lower line than expected in what should be ideal conditions for running rugby.
