Australia’s Rugby World Cup campaign kicks off on Sunday morning against an improved Georgia outfit.
Eddie Jones is yet to win a test since taking over as the head coach, so there is mounting pressure on a new-look Wallabies team.
We look at the best bets for the Rugby World Cup game, where the Wallabies are $1.02 in head-to-head markets.

Wallabies vs. Georgia Predictions
It has been an awful 2023 for Australia, who looked average in the Rugby Championship, and we don’t see much changing in the World Cup.
Jones has lost the respect of many, especially with his numerous press conference outbursts. Australia needs stability, and Jones isn’t providing that.
However, Australia should always be the favourite against Georgia, and that’s the case for Sunday’s game. They are $1.02 and –20.5 with points spread markets, which is where most of the action will be at the sportsbook.
Georgia is one of the most improved teams in world rugby. They are still considered a minnow, but we think they could test Australia if they play anywhere near their best.
The strength of Georgia comes with their forward pack, which is big, and it could give the Wallabies something to think about at scrum time. Australia is better at the breakdown, but the power advantage is with the Eurasian side.
Georgia lost its most recent game to Scotland, but prior to that they defeated USA 22-7 and Romania 56-6. Those opponents are terrible, but it should give them confidence.
Australia and Georgia met at the 2019 World Cup, and it was Australia winning 27-8, so Georgia would have covered the current +20.5 spread. That’s a good form pointer because they have come closer since 2019.
We’re happy to take Georgia with the points. It won’t be an easy cover, but given the way Australia is playing, it could struggle to score points against a defense-minded Georgian outfit.
Bet: Georgia +20.5 @ $1.90
Wallabies vs. Georgia Exotic Tips
The current points total is 53.5, and we’re locking in the under.
We expect a low-scoring affair, which could be decided in the forwards. Australia’s attack isn’t anywhere near its best, and Georgia has never been a high-scoring team against the better rugby nations
Therefore, we expect a 27-10 scoreline, which sees the under cash with significant ease.
Punters can bet on Australia to win 11-20, which is another value option. We can’t see them blowing Georgia off the park, and although these options are tough to predict, punters get odds worth snapping up.
Australia 11-20 pays $3.80, so it’s worth including in your Rugby World Cup selections.
We’re not overly thrilled by the Wallabies back line, but the shining light is Tate McDermott. The vice-captain could lead by example against Georgia, and we fancy his chances of scoring a try.
The 24-year-old came through the sevens, so he knows how to score tries, and that could be telling on Sunday morning, so take him to score the first try, and to score a try at any time.
Bet: Australia 11-20 @ $3.80
