It has been a curious start to the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, with the tournament generating a mixed reaction from the world’s football followers.
Bayern Munich hammering part-timers Auckland City 10-0 set the trend and with attendances often sparse, it has been an inauspicious start for FIFA and their king makers.
In terms of results, the likes of Chelsea, Manchester City and PSG have all got off to winning starts, with Borussia Dortmund, Real Madrid and FC Porto all faltering against non-European opposition.
The second round of group fixtures should throw up some more interesting match-up and here are our FIFA Club World Cup predictions for the next fixtures:

FIFA Club World Cup Round 2 Predictions
—
Palmeiras ($1.64)
Al Ahly ($6.50)
Draw ($4.00)
Two sides who picked up decent points in their opening games meet here, as Brazilian side Palmeiras take on Al Ahly. With Inter Miami and FC Porto housed in Group A, both sides know they are relative underdogs to reach the knockout rounds, but a win here could strengthen both of their causes. Palmeiras dug deep against Porto, as did Al Ahly against Inter Miami and with games ending 0-0, this could be another cagey one. Palmeiras will be heavily backed though, and they could manage to sneak over the line in a tight game.
Palmeiras to win 1-0
—
Inter Miami ($4.75)
FC Porto ($1.76)
Draw ($4.00)
A pair of sides with work to do in Group A clash in this one, as Inter Miami take on FC Porto. Both endured underwhelming starts to their campaigns and know there is little margin for error. Inter Miami will come out and play, which should suit FC Porto, and they should have the quality to pick them off in key areas.
FC Porto to win 2-1
—
Seattle Sounders ($11.00)
Atletico Madrid ($1.33)
Draw ($5.60)
Following their thumping at the hands of European champions PSG, Atletico Madrid will be looking to get back on track here against the Seattle Sounders. A loss for either side would more than likely see them packing their bags and it should be Atletico who have the personnel to come up clutch in this one
Atletico Madrid to win 3-0
—
PSG ($1.22)
Botafogo ($15.00)
Draw ($7.50)
Having continued their breathtaking form against Atletico Madrid in their tournament opener, PSG will be looking for a repeat here against Botafogo. A good win over the Seattle Sounders will give Botafogo a boost ahead of this one but PSG are the tournament favourites, and they should pick up a comfortable win here.
PSG to win 4-1
—
Benfica ($1.01)
Auckland City ($251.00)
Draw ($91.00)
Following their 10-0 loss against Bayern Munich, Auckland City won’t be too eager to face another European giant in Benfica here. The Portuguese side drew with Boca Juniors in a chaotic opener, but this should be much more comfortable, and Auckland City could be in for another hammering in this one.
Benfica to win 7-0
—
Chelsea ($1.90)
Flamengo ($4.50)
Draw ($3.70)
The top two sides in Group D meet here, in what feels like a straight hit to finish top of the pool. Chelsea overcame LAFC, with Flamengo seeing of Esperance comfortably too. With such resources in their squad, Chelsea are in the mix to go all the way in this competition, and they should secure an important win in this one.
Chelsea to win 3-1
—
LAFC ($1.90)
Esperance de Tunis ($4.75)
Draw ($3.50)
By contrast, both of these sides need any sort of result to stay alive in the competition here, as LAFC take on Esperance de Tunis. Chelsea and Flamengo proved to be too much for both sides in their openers and while Esperance have very little to lose, LAFC should find a way to get over the line in this one.
LAFC to win 2-1
—
Bayern Munich ($1.21)
Boca Juniors ($16.00)
Draw ($7.50)
German giants Bayern Munich got their campaign underway with a historic 10-0 win over Auckland City, and they will want to build upon that here against Boca Juniors. The Argentine outfit will be fiery and tough to beat but Bayern have quality in their ranks and should march on here under Vincent Kompany.
Bayern Munich to win 3-1
—
Sundowns ($10.50)
Borussia Dortmund ($1.30)
Draw ($5.80)
Following an opening game draw with Fluminense, Borussia Dortmund will be looking for a win here against South African side Sundowns. The Mamelodi Sundowns are in a strong position heading into this one, having won their opener but Dortmund should have way too much quality for them in this one.
Borussia Dortmund to win 4-0
—
Inter Milan ($1.20)
Urawa Red Diamonds ($16.00)
Draw ($7.50)
Having drawn their opening game with Monterrey, Inter Milan know they need to win this one against Urawa Red Diamonds. There is plenty of expectation on the Italian giants ahead of this one and they should step up and deliver all three points.
Inter Milan to win 4-0
—
Ulsan Hyundai Horangi ($12.50)
Fluminense ($1.28)
Draw ($6.00)
Following a solid draw with Borussia Dortmund in their opener, Fluminense take on South Korean giants Ulsan. Group F looks to be wide open, with Sundowns at the top of the tree currently and Fluminense could seize this opportunity and pick up an important win.
Fluminense to win 3-1
—
CF Monterrey ($3.75)
River Plate ($2.10)
Draw ($3.40)
Mexico vs Argentina always carries weight, and this should be a cracker between CF Monterrey and River Plate. Both sides are still very much in the hunt to reach the last 16 and they will be looking to avoid defeat, bringing the draw very much into play.
1-1 Draw
—
Juventus ($1.22)
WAC Casablanca ($17.00)
Draw ($6.50)
Juventus picked up a big opening win over Al Ain and they will be looking for the same here against WAC Casablanca. The Moroccan’s put up a very decent fight against Manchester City but Juve should also pose too much pace and quality, particularly in forward areas.
Juventus to win 3-0
—
Real Madrid ($1.25)
CF Pachuca ($12.00)
Draw ($6.25)
It was an underwhelming start to life under Xabi Alonso for Real Madrid, who drew with Al Hilal, and they will want to bounce back here against CF Pachuca. The Mexicans lost out to RB Salzburg in their opener and with confidence potentially flaky, Real Madrid should comfortably see them off in this one.
Real Madrid to win 3-1
—
Al Hilal ($1.88)
Red Bull Salzburg ($4.00)
Draw ($4.00)
Saudi giants Al Hilal acquitted themselves excellently against Real Madrid and they will be looking to kick on here against RB Salzburg. The Austrians beat CF Pachuca in their opener, but Al Hilal have some serious players in their ranks, and they could well prevail in this one.
Al Hilal to win 2-1
—
Al Ain ($34.00)
Juventus ($1.07)
Draw ($13.00)
New look Manchester City got their campaign off to a winning start against Wydad AC in their opener and Emirati side Al Ain await next. City know a win here would see them through to the knockout rounds and they should prevail in this one.
Manchester City to win 3-1
