Our Experience With Australian Betting Sites
If you’re looking for the best betting sites in Australia, GoBet’s team of expert punters, analysts and traders are here to help you find them.
Between the GoBet team, we’ve been testing Australian betting sites since 2005 – from both sides. Our team have worked at major Australian bookmakers like TAB, Sportsbet, Bet365 and William Hill before launching GoBet in 2015.
We know which bookmakers are worth your time and the ones that aren’t. This page shortlists our top-rated betting sites from the 180+ we’ve personally used ourselves.
As of July 2026, there are more than 130 active online bookmakers in Australia, and we’ve comprehensively reviewed all of them to give you all the information you need, so you can ensure you’re getting the best possible betting experience.
All of the Australian betting sites on our GoBet-recommended list have been personally vetted through every stage of the betting process – from signing up and depositing money, to placing a bet and withdrawing your winnings.
Between the GoBet team, we’ve held accounts at every online Australian bookmaker over our betting careers. We’ve been limited, banned, and had accounts closed – sometimes without reason – and we’ve won and we’ve lost at all of these bookmakers.
When we say a bookmaker is worth your time it’s because we know from experience how they handle disputes, how they pay out, and whether they are likely to close you down or heavily restrict you for winning too much.
How We Rate and Review Australian Betting Sites
Every bookmaker and betting app is tested over a 30-day period and we use every feature of the bookmaker during testing – just as any real punter would.
We perform extensive analysis on bookmaker odds margins for popular sports, so you’ll know when you are getting a fair deal or not. You can find out more about the odds margins of each bookmaker on their individual review page.
Our ratings are weighted
1. Odds Value (25%)
We provide comprehensive analysis of the margins that each bookmaker factors into their betting odds. Most bookmakers are highly competitive in popular sports like NRL and AFL (4.5-6%), but some bookies have insane soccer margins of up to 15%.
2. Overall User Experience (20%)
Some betting sites and apps are easy to use, and some just aren’t! User experience and the ability to navigate a site intuitively means you can place your bets quickly. If we have any frustration points during our testing, you will hear about them in our reviews.
3. Withdrawal Speed (15%)
It’s 2026 – there’s no excuse for withdrawals not to hit your bank account the same day. Same-day withdrawals give a bookmaker a pass mark in this section, while betting sites that process withdrawals within an hour rate the highest, and sites that take longer than two days will be given the lowest rating.
4. Customer Service (15%)
Customer service is one of those things that you won’t need often, but when you do, it needs to be quick and easy. Our preferred method is live chat (with a real person), but a phone service is also something that we look at for urgent matters. A bookmaker will only be given the highest rating if they offer multiple forms of fast, 24/7 customer support.
5. Unique Features and Promotions (15%)
Depending on the type of punter you are, you might weight this one heavier. Unique features and promotions can offer more fun and betting value. Most bookmakers offer daily or weekly promotions, but this can be highly personalised so you’ll have to log in to your accounts to see what’s available to you.
6. Range of Betting Markets (10%)
Aussie punters love a same-game multi, and this is where the range of betting markets on offer really comes into play. Some bookmakers only offer around 40 markets for AFL/NRL matches, while others offer more than 260. The more markets, the more options for your same-game multis!
7. Australian Licencing and Regulation
For us, licencing and regulation goes without saying. If a bookmaker is not licenced and regulated in Australia, you won’t see it here. By only using Australian licenced and regulated betting sites, it means your winnings are safe. If you have a big win at an offshore bookmaker or casino, chances are that you will never see that money!
Our rankings were last updated in July 2026 by the GoBet team including Daryl Curnow, Dominic Field, Sam Hayes, Ross Cole, Jake Kearnan, Frankie McDonald and Dale Crotty.

How Online Betting Works in Australia
Betting online in Australia is simple – you sign up for a betting account at an Australian-licenced bookmaker, then you deposit funds to your account, then you place your bets. We’ll take you through step-by-step below:
How to Open an Online Betting Account
- Use the links on this page to visit a licenced and regulated Australian bookmaker
- Click the yellow “Join” button – which is usually located in the top-right corner
- Enter your details, including name, address and phone, and choose a username
- Read and accept the Ts&Cs before tapping “Register”
- Verify your identity using a passport or other national ID
- Set responsible gambling limits – this is optional, but we strongly recommend setting a deposit limit
How to Deposit Funds in Your Betting Account
You can deposit funds into your betting account using any of the payment options available at your chosen betting site. The most common method of depositing funds is using your debit card (credit card deposits have been banned since June 2024) and they will be credited to your account instantly.
Other popular deposit options include bank transfer, PayID, various e-wallets such as PayPal, mobile wallets like Google Pay and Apple Pay, POLi, Flexepin, and BPay.
How to Place Your First Bet
- Find your market – the best betting sites will let you bet on almost any sports event or horse race around the world
- Add the market to you betslip
- Enter your bet amount
- Click the “Place Bet” button
- Review the stake and potential payout and confirm your bet
To place a multi bet or same-game multi, follow the same steps but add multiple markets to your betslip and enter your bet amount in the multi bet section of the betslip.
How to Withdraw Funds From Your Betting Account
Before you go ahead with a withdrawal, you should check the terms and conditions of your chosen bookmaker. Most bookmakers have a 1x turnover requirement for withdrawing funds as a measure of anti-money laundering protection, and have minimum withdrawals of $5-$10.
Once you have checked these requirements, withdrawing funds from your betting account is simple:
- Go to your account withdrawal page
- Enter how much you would like to withdraw
- Select the withdrawal method – some bookmakers only offer withdrawals to your verified bank account, but others will also offer withdrawals via e-wallets like PayPal, Google Pay or Apple Pay.
- Confirm the withdrawal.
Depending on the bookmaker, the funds should hit your account in anywhere from a few seconds (Dabble) to 1-2 days.
Deposit Match Bonus Bets in Australia
Deposit match and signup bonus bets haven’t been legal to advertise in Australia since May 2019, but if you already have an account with any of our recommended bookmakers, you can check the ‘Promotions’ page to find any offers that might be available to you.

Which Betting Sites Have the Fastest Withdrawal Speeds?
The betting sites that we have tested that have the fastest (sometimes instant) withdrawal speeds are Dabble (near instant for all of our withdrawals), PointsBet, Palmerbet, Sportsbet, Neds, Ladbrokes, Betr, TAB and NextBet.
Withdrawal speeds play a significant part of our ratings methodology, and we believe same-day withdrawals just get a bookmaker a pass mark in this section.
Anything longer than 24 hours is not acceptable in 2026, and if a bookmaker has a minimum of 24-hour withdrawal times during our testing, they will receive the lowest rating.
The table below shows the top betting sites with the 20 fastest withdrawal times:
| Rank | Betting Site | Withdrawal Times |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Dabble | Instant to 24 hours |
| 2 | PointsBet | 30 minutes to 24 hours |

Which Betting Sites Let You Cash Out Your Bets?
Ladbrokes, Neds, Picklebet, PointsBet, TAB and Unibet all allow full and partial cash-outs of your bets. Bookmakers that offer only a full cash-out of your bet include Betr, EpicOdds, NextBet, Palmerbet, Sportsbet and SwiftBet.
The cash-out feature is popular with Australian punters because it gives you the security of locking in some profits before the match has finished. Partial cash-outs are a great way to hedge your bets, by securing some winnings and then letting the rest ride for a potentially larger payout.
Our full table of betting sites that offer cash-outs on your bets can be seen below (if a site doesn’t appear on this list, it doesn’t offer cash-outs at this point in time):
| Betting Site | Cash Out | Partial Cash Out |

Types of Bets Explained
Head-to-head (Match Winner) Bets
Head-to-head is the most straightforward betting market for any sporting event where you simply pick the team or person you think will win.
Line and Handicap Bets
Line betting is where the bookmaker provides a handicap to the point at which they consider the outcome to be 50/50. You are then betting on whether a team will win by more than, or lose by less than the handicap margin.
Over/Under Bets
Over/under bets are when you predict the over or under for the total combined score of a match, or over/under the total games in a tennis match. We often use this market when we think head-to-head or lines are too tight to call or have little value.
Multi Bets
A multi bet is where you combine multiple predictions into one bet, which multiplies the odds. For example, if you think three teams are going to win this week in the NRL, you can combine them into a multi bet for them all to win for greater odds. All three must win for you to win your bet.
Same-Game Multi Bets
A same-game multi is where you combine multiple markets from the same sporting event into a single bet. For example, an AFL same-game multi might include the winner, two players to kick 2+ goals, and two players to get 20+ disposals. All legs must win for you to win your bet.
Futures and Outright Bets
Futures and outrights are long-term bets where you predict the winner of the season for a particular sport, or predict the winner of a future horse race. You can often find value in the long-term bets, but they also carry a risk of your bet being derailed due to an injury to an important player, or your horse not even making it to the race.
Player Prop Bets
Player prop bets are where you bet on individual statistical achievements of a player in a sporting event. For example, in the NBA, a player prop bet lets you choose a player to score a certain number of points, get a certain number of rebounds, 3-pointers, assists, and more.
What are the Top Sports to Bet on in Australia?
Horse Racing Betting
There is daily horse racing in Australia with major metro meets on Wednesdays and Saturdays. The Spring Racing Carnival is where we see the best of the best line up, and the payouts on trifectas and first fours can be huge.
NRL Betting
We love our NRL, and betting on the NRL only increases the excitement of the game. Popular betting markets include head-to-head, lines, over/under total points, first try scorer, anytime try scorer, and futures markets.
AFL Betting
Most betting sites provide more than 200 markets per game for AFL matches, including head-to-head, lines, margins (big win/little win), over/under total points, first goal scorer, anytime goal scorer, and player props that include possessions, marks, tackles, and more. AFL futures markets are also available for the Premiership winner, ladder position, and Brownlow Medal winner.
Cricket Betting
You can bet on all forms of cricket from T20, Big Bash, one-dayers, and test match cricket. Popular cricket betting markets include head-to-head, over/under total runs, player runs, player wickets, top batter, top bowler, player of the match, and much more.
NBA Betting
NBA continues to gain popularity every year in Australia, and placing your NBA bets is easy with any of our featured bookmakers. You’ll see all the standard match markets that include head-to-head, lines, over/under total score, and a huge amount of player props markets.
UFC Betting
Betting on the UFC is one of the most exciting bets you can place because a fight can end at any moment. Popular UFC betting markets include head-to-head, over/under rounds, method of victory, round betting(which round the fight will end), and method/round betting.
NFL Betting
The NFL is another sport that is gaining a larger and larger following every year in Australia. Popular NFL betting markets include head-to-head, lines, margins, over/under total points, players to score touchdowns, quarterback passing yards, running yards, and futures betting on the Super Bowl winner.
Rugby Betting
Rugby Union betting, including Rugby Internationals and Super Rugby, is a bit more niche in Australia but there is often plenty of value in the market. Popular Rugby betting markets include head-to-head, over/under total points, half-time/full-time winner, and try scorer markets.
Soccer Betting
Soccer betting – including Premier League, Champions League, FIFA World Cup, and A-League – is popular with punters who like juicier betting odds because the result of a draw is much higher than other sports.
