Australian international rugby kicks off on Wednesday night as the Wallabies prepare for the French.
It hasn’t been an easy time for Australian rugby, but a win against France would send them in a positive direction.
Bookmakers have Australia as firm favourites to win and we look at the best value bets for the big game.

Australia vs France Betting Tips
Australia owns only one win from their its last seven games, which incredibly includes three draws.
The Wallabies drew with New Zealand 16-16 before losing 27-7 to the All Blacks later in the series. That loss was followed by a one-sided 43-5 loss before they scored a rare win over New Zealand in November.
Unable to continue the momentum against Argentina, which included two draws, Australia must now recoup and start becoming a more consistent rugby team.
Gone are the days where Australia is a force in world rugby, but it has a quality team on paper and we’re confident this unit has plenty of potential.
The Wallabies have the likes of Marika Koroibete, Tom Wright, and Tom Banks. It’s not the most explosive team, but with the experienced Matt Toomua and Michael Hooper in the squad, that will help out the young guns.
France doesn’t have a full-strength team for the opening game. Notable players have been left out for the road trip, but France comes off a solid European campaign. It lost two of the last three games to Scotland and England, but it posted wins over Wales, Italy and Ireland.
No matter what team the French turn up with, they are always tough to beat. They always turn up for each other and that’s a good asset to have.
France hasn’t played Australia since 2016, so there is no recent history to go on. However, the Wallabies own a 4-1 advantage from the last five contests.
The online bookmakers have Australia at $1.26 and France at $3.90. Australia is a short-priced favourite for good reason, but the spread could make things interesting. The line is 9.5, but most of the money has come for France to cover the spread.
With it being the first test match of the season for both teams, they could be rusty. A close game is expected, and although we expect Australia to win, France could hang around and kick its way to a spread cover.

Australia vs France Exotic Bets
We love a first try scorer bet and we’re picking the Australians to score first. At the top of our list is Tom Wright, who has been in try-scoring fashion with the Brumbies.
The former rugby league player is on the same line as Marika Koroibete at $9, and we like his chances to score the opening try on Wednesday night.
Value is with Wright and we’re happy to take the $9. As a saver, we’re backing Andrew Kellaway. He’s on debut and debutantes often score early tries.
He is a former Australian schoolboy and the Melbourne Rebel is capable of scoring the first try. He’s paying $11 to get it done and $2.88 to score at any time throughout the game.
Sportsbet offers some BYO markets and we like Australia to score the first try and win. It pays $1.53, which is excellent value as France could struggle to score seven pointers.
Punters can also get Marika Koroibete or Tom Wright to score the first try at $4.50, which acts as a good saver bet for first try scorer options.
