Hurricanes vs. Blues Predictions – Super Rugby Week 9 2026

We have Hurricanes vs. Blues predictions for Super Rugby Week 9 on Saturday, April 11 at 5:05pm at Sky Stadium in Wellington.

Punters love an all-New Zealand battle, and it should be a cracking contest at the Cake Tin.

Best Bet

Blues +8.5 @ $1.90

Most of the early money has come for the Hurricanes to cover the spread, but we’re locking in the Blues +8.5.

They scored a 40-15 win over the Fijian Drua two weeks ago before enjoying a bye week, and although the Hurricanes looked good when smashing the Reds at home, there wasn’t much difference between the wins.

It’s always a good contest between the Hurricanes and Blues, and we expected Super Rugby betting lines to have the Hurricanes at –4.5. Our predictions have the game coming down to who wins the final 20 minutes, in what should be a close contest.

The Blues have a good chance of winning the game outright, so the +8.5 line is generous, and it’s one of our best Super Rugby picks of the week.

Same Game Multi

Blues +8.5, Fehi Fineanganofo Anytime Try Scorer, Caleb Clarke Anytime Try Scorer, Over 54.5 Points @ $8.50

We’re going with the noted try scorers in Fehi Fineanganofo and Caleb Clarke, who have been in fine form this season.

Fineanganofo comes off consecutive games with a hattrick, so he’s in excellent form, and punters get $1.85 for him to score on Saturday. With six tries from his last two games, the Hurricanes star is a player to watch.

Clarke has six tries from his last five games, including a try against the Drua. The All Black is a power runner, and he’s starting to put his hand up for the Blues. The $2.15 odds are much better than expected.

Given the attacking prowess on display, over 54.5 points is a good multi bet addition. It should be a back-and-forth contest with plenty of tries.

Best Value Bet

Blues @ $3.30

We predict an upset in Wellington, and the Blues have a team equipped to pull off a road win.

They have the likes of Clarke, Cody Vai, Beauden Barrett, and All Black halfback Finlay Christie. That’s a deep team, and it should measure up well against the Hurricanes.

The odds are generous, so snap up the $3.30.
