Super Rugby AU Round 5 & Aotearoa Round 8 Betting Tips
7:05pm Force vs. Rebels
The Force haven’t had an impressive re-introduction back into Super Rugby and their struggles could continue on Friday night.
The Perth-based franchise is coming off a 24-0 loss to the Brumbies and it made them 0-3 on the new season.
As for the Rebels, they hit back from a loss and a draw with a 29-10 win over the Waratahs. It was a good effort against a solid team and their confidence levels should be rising now.
It was the Force who won the most recent meeting in 2017, but that’s when they were solidified franchise and we’re expecting the Rebels to be too tough.
Bookmakers have 10.5 points between them and although money is coming for the Force, the Rebels should cover the spread.

5:05pm Chiefs vs. Crusaders
The Crusaders suffered their first loss at the hands of the Hurricanes last week and it could threaten to derail their season.
It was plain sailing for the Crusaders, and with a win, would have all but secured the NZ Super Rugby Championship. However, the Hurricanes and Blues are now within touching distance and could strike over the last few weeks.
One team that isn’t a threat to the Crusaders are the Chiefs, who are winless since Super Rugby resumed. They are 0-5 and after looking likely to steal a win over the Blues last week, they couldn’t get it done.
Not many would have predicted the Chiefs not winning a game the entire season but that’s the situation they face. They also face the best team in the competition, so it’s unlikely that their first win will come this week.
There is good value taking the Crusaders –8.5.

7:15pm Brumbies vs. Reds
The Brumbies are the form team of Australian Super Rugby and they could stay perfect against a Reds side they have already beaten this year.
It may have come in January but the Brumbies were just too strong for the Reds when they last met. The Brumbies have improved significantly since that victory, having posted big wins over the Waratahs and Force.
The Reds have won two of their last three games, which also includes a draw. The draw came against the Rebels and it was a huge effort to tie the game in the dying stages.
However, they gave up 24 points against a Western Force side that didn’t score a point last week. The defense will need to pick up if they’re any chance of beating the Brumbies.
Punters are getting great value in the points spread market, so take the Brumbies –6.5.

1:35pm Highlanders vs. Blues
It wasn’t a bye-week to enjoy for the Highlanders, who created headlines by trashing a hotel in Queenstown.
It hasn’t been a season to enjoy for the Highlanders either, but they did manage to score a win over the Chiefs two weeks ago.
They should have confidence in their most recent game against the Blues, which resulted in a three-point loss. It was a close game and now they get to play on home soil.
However, the Blues are tough to beat on their day and they did well to hold on last week. After leading 14-0, the Blues were in danger of losing to the Chiefs. A late defensive effort was enough to seal the deal and get a much-needed victory.
The Blues have a chance to make a run for the title but nothing short of a victory against the Highlanders will suffice.
