The Crusaders play their first game at the new Stadium, and although that’s a big occasion, it doesn’t mean they’ll win the game comfortably.

After losing to the Force last week, we’re surprised to see the Crusaders listed at –17.5 favourites, so we’re backing the Waratahs to keep it close.

They scored a 29-14 win over Moana Pasifika, so they should come in with confidence.

3:05pm Hurricanes vs. Brumbies @ Sky Stadium

Betting Tip: Brumbies +14.5 @ $1.90

It’s an important game for both teams who lost last week. The Hurricanes lost to the Chiefs and the Brumbies lost to the Drua.

The Brumbies’ loss was much worse, but they could bounce back in Wellington, and they know they need to produce a good effort to save face.

Getting a +14.5 start is sizable, so we’re backing the underdogs to keep it close.

We love a Blues vs. Reds battle, and the home team should have too much class for the visitors on Anzac Day.

The Blues scored 47 points against the Highlanders last week, and although the game got close late in the second half, they were never threatened.

That bodes well against a Reds team that doesn’t travel well, and they were pumped by the Force only three weeks ago. They come off a bye, which helps, but the Blues are seeking a higher spot on the ladder, and they should win comfortably.

Betting Tip: Highlanders -17.5 @ $1.90

It’s rare to score 40 points and lose, but the Highlanders haven’t got the rub of the green this season.

They put up a spirited fight against the Blues last week, only to fall short in the dying seconds. However, with Moana Pasifika up next, they should favour themselves to score a one-sided victory at home on Sunday afternoon.

We don’t have much faith in Moana Pasifika, who are on their way out of the competition next year, so back the Highlanders to come through.

It’s a big line to cover against a team coming off a big win, but the Chiefs should have far too much class for the Drua.

The Chiefs scored a gutsy win over the Hurricanes last week as the home underdogs, and we’re happy to keep backing them this season.

It should be a one-sided game, so take the Chiefs –23.5.
