Super Rugby Pacific Round 8 Predictions
5:05pm Highlanders vs Moana Pasifika @ Forsyth Barr Stadium
The Highlanders finally showed up against the Crusaders last week, but the end result was still another loss.
They are struggling to win games and they’re now sitting at the bottom of the table with no wins from six games.
It’s a poor showing from the Highlanders, but they’re the –20.5 favourites to beat Moana Pasifika and there is a good reason why.
The new addition to the competition were thrashed 46-16 by the Blues last week, so their confidence will be down. However, they are good enough to stick with the Highlanders, so take the +20.5.
Betting tip: Moana Pasifika +20.5 @ $1.90 – Bet @ PlayUp

7:45pm Force vs Rebels @ NIB Stadium
The Force were unlucky not to beat the Brumbies when they played two weeks ago. The 39-38 loss was tough to take, but it holds them in good stead against the Rebels.
The Rebels also had last week off following a win over the Drua, but their form hasn’t been good this season and they could struggle.
There is more confidence in the camp of the Force, who are the $1.30 favourites, and they could contest for the playoffs if they can get over the line on Friday.
Most of the money has come for the Rebels with the +7.5 head start, but take the Force to make a statement against their Australian rivals.
Betting tip: Force –7.5 @ $1.96 – Bet @ PlayUp

2:35pm Hurricanes vs Crusaders @ Wellington Regional Stadium
It wasn’t easy for the Crusaders last week, but they found plenty in the late stages to beat the Highlanders.
Unconvincing, but it was good enough to notch another win and now they target the Hurricanes, who will be keen to avenge their one-point loss to the Chiefs.
Bookmakers have the line at 8.5 in favour of the Crusaders, but most of the money has come for the home team, who could give the favourites a run for their money.
Given the weight of money for the Hurricanes, we’re prepared to back to them cover the spread. They have the firepower to stick with the Crusaders and have a chance to win late.
Betting tip: Hurricanes +8.5 @ $1.86 – Bet @ PlayUp

7:05pm Chiefs vs Blues @ FMG Stadium
The Blues enjoyed facing easier opposition twice last week and it could have opened the floodgates.
They discounted Pasifika twice, but despite winning 46-16, they are the underdogs to beat the Chiefs on Saturday night.
Most of the betting moves have come for the Chiefs, who found their best form when beating the Hurricanes 30-29 in a thrilling contest.
It should be a good form guide for this game, but we can’t turn down the value with the Blues, who are paying $1.96.
Betting tip: Blues @ $1.96 – Bet @ PlayUp

9:45pm Fijian Drua vs Brumbies @ Suncorp Stadium
We have seen improvement from the Fijian Drua, but they shouldn’t be causing the Brumbies any problems.
They come off a 38-14 loss to the Waratahs and the Brumbies are a much better team, so the current line of 16.5 points seems generous from bookmakers.
The Brumbies didn’t show their best form against the Reds last week, but they’ll fancy their chances of putting up a big number on the Drua.
Betting tip: Brumbies –16.5 @ $1.90 – Bet @ PlayUp
