We have Wimbledon picks and predictions for Thursday, July 2nd, which features Round 2 matches in the men’s and women’s draw.

Matteo Berrettini got through his first-round match against Stan Wawrinka, but every set went to a tiebreak, so it wasn’t a comprehensive performance from the Italian.

Looking to take advantage is Arthur Fils, who won easily in straight sets, and the young Frenchman should have enough gas in the tank to beat Berrettini with ease in the second round on Friday morning.

It should be a close first set, but if Berrettini doesn’t win it, he can throw in the towel quickly. With youth on his side, Fils is the man to beat, and we have him covering the –4.5 game spread, which is a fair line from bookies.

Punters get $1.96, so the odds are worth including in Wimbledon multis.

Karolina Pliskova vs. Iga Swiatek Best Bet

Pre-tournament expectations were low for Iga Swiatek, who has been battling for form in 2026. However, we thought she would make a deep run, and she did enough to beat Taylor Townsend in the first round.

It wasn’t a convincing effort from the defending champion, but she knows how to win matches, and that’s why we have her winning 2-1 against Karolina Pliskova, who is good enough to take a set off the former world number one.

Pliskova won her first-round match in straight sets, and although we don’t have her beating Swiatek, it should be a close contest. Based on Swiatek’s recent struggles, winning 2-0 could be tough, but look for the Polish star to close it out in the third.

Punters get $4, so the odds make it a worthwhile Wimbledon pick.

Alexandra Eala vs. Maya Joint Best Bet

Most of the money is with young star Alexandra Eala, but we don’t rate her as a $1.24 chance.

That’s far too short for Eala to win, especially given her lack of experience, and we think Maya Joint could cause an upset as the underdog.

Punters get a +4.5 line for Joint, which has drifted to $2.08, but she looked good when getting Serena Williams in the first round. Williams is nowhere near her best, but Joint had to focus after blowing the second set, and she knuckled down well to win the third set.

That should give her enough confidence to kick on with it, and we’re surprised by the lack of betting support. She’s a tough player to get past, especially for Eala, who is in danger of falling victim to having too many off-court commitments.

It doesn’t help when trying to win at Wimbledon, so take the seasoned pro to keep it close.
