We have Wimbledon picks and predictions for Tuesday, June 30th, which features Round 1 matches in the men’s and women’s draw.
Our tennis picks include three of the best games of the day, including Wawrinka vs. Berrettini, Molcan vs. Altmaier, and Williams vs. Joint.
Stan Wawrinka vs. Matteo Berrettini Best Bet
It’s not easy betting against Stan Wawrinka in the opening round, but Matteo Berrettini should prove too tough to handle.
The Italian made it to the quarterfinals of the French Open before pulling out after one set. However, he has seemingly recovered from that setback with some solid grass court performances, which is why he’s the short favourite to win.
Wawrinka is the $4.10 underdog, and it could be his final game at Wimbledon. He’s on a retirement tour, but it could end with another first round loss, as it did at Roland Garros.
We have Berrettini winning easily, and the $2.02 odds for the –4.5 game spread is too good to turn down with Wimbledon betting markets.
Alex Molcan vs. Daniel Altmaier Best Bet
As the market suggests, it should be a close game between Alex Molcan and Daniel Altmaier, but we give the edge to the German.
He made it to the Round of 12 at Eastbourne before pulling out when losing his match in the second set. Despite that performance, he should be tough to beat. He didn’t want to strain himself before a grand slam tournament, so it could pay to overlook that effort.
Molcan hasn’t impressed us much throughout his career, and we expect him to lose the Round 1 match. His recent results are only fair, and if Altmaier plays his best tennis, we expect him to justify his favouritism.
Punters get $1.82 for Altmaier to win, and we priced him at $1.70. The odds are worth including in Wimbledon multi bets on Tuesday night, and his odds could firm close to game time.
Serena Williams vs. Maya Joint Best Bet
Serena Williams is the greatest female player of all time, but her record since giving birth is terrible, and there’s no way around it.
She is likely playing her last Wimbledon in 2026, and although she deserves to win a few matches on her way out, we can’t see Maya Joint letting the occasion get the better of her, and she is playing better tennis than Williams.
A lack of recent match practice won’t help the American, and she only entered the tournament because her daughter told her to. It’s not the greatest way to enter a big tournament, and Joint should arguably be paying $1.30 to win.
She’s not a superstar, but with fitness on her side, she should get past Williams. Bookmakers have a respectable $1.70 available for the 20-year-old, and we expect Williams to be gracious in defeat at Wimbledon.
