Ash Barty vs Karolina Pliskova Betting Prediction
Ashleigh Barty is doing Australia proud after making the Wimbledon Final and she is the short favourite to complete the job on Saturday night.
The Queenslander has played stellar tennis all season, which sees her season record extend to 34 wins and six losses, which is much better than Pliskova’s 21-12 record.
Barty got past former Wimbledon champion Angelique Kerber in the semifinal in straight sets. The 6-3 7-6 victory wasn’t always comfortable, but she won the big points against a proven and experienced player, which is no easy feat.
Her lethal forehand has been working nicely and that’s her biggest weapon. She hits the ball on the up and it gives her opposition little time to adjust, which is why she has been so successful over the last few years.
Standing in her way of becoming a two-time Grand Slam champion is Karolina Pliskova, who earned her way to the final by upsetting Aryna Sabalenka in three sets. She lost the opening set 7-5 before rebounding to win the final two sets 6-4 6-4.
It would be foolish to overlook Pliskova, who has dropped only one set throughout the tournament. Barty also dropped one set in her opening-round game, so they’re evenly matched.
Recent history goes to Barty, who has won the last three meetings. The most recent game came in April on clay where Barty scored a 2-1 victory. Her last two wins went to the third set, so there hasn’t been much between them.
One of Pliskova’s two wins over Barty came on grass, but it was in 2016 and form from five years doesn’t stack up in 2021.
Barty is the $1.37 favourite with Sportsbet, which is short for a final. Pliskova is the $3.02 underdog, and although that price is generous, we don’t think Barty will be beaten.
She’s too powerful and she doesn’t typically need much time to get warm, so she should come out of the gates firing. That could take Czech off guard and the first set could be wrapped up in short time.
Women’s tennis finals are often one-sided affairs and it could be the situation here. Barty could overpower her opponent and score a 6-3 6-2 victory. We’re happy to take the $1.37, but there is more value in sets betting markets.
Our money is on Barty 2-0 at $2.05. That is a fair price from bookmakers and we thought she would be around $1.85 to complete the feat.

Ash Barty vs Karolina Pliskova Exotic Picks
There are many exotic betting options for the Wimbledon Women’s Final, including first set winner, first set score and game handicap.
We like Barty to make a statement in the opening set. She is $1.48 to get the ball rolling in Set 1, which is a better price than head-to-head markets. She doesn’t often lose the first set and Pliskova lost the first set in her semifinal.
Barty is capable of winning the first set 6-3, which requires only one break of serve. Punters can enjoy $6 for that option, which is well worth having a stab.
The final exotic bet we like is Barty –3.5 games. She should comfortably get the job done and winning 6-4 6-4 isn’t beyond the realm of possibility. It’s a generous line for punters, so get stuck in before it moves to –4.5.
