Introduction to William Hill
In 2012, UK betting giant, William Hill, acquired Australian bookmaker, Sportingbet. In February 2015 Sportingbet was officially rebranded to William Hill and the William Hill brand of betting was launched in Australia.
William Hill has been around for over 80 years and has built a solid reputation as one of the premier bookmakers in the world.
As mentioned above, the William Hill brand no longer operates in Australia because it was merged into BetEasy as of August 13th, 2018.
What is William Hill’s Current Sign up Bonus?
Although it’s closed to residents living in Victoria, New South Wales, and Western and Southern Australia there’s a bonus first-time bet being offered for a limited time at William Hill for new customers – they will be allowed to bet up to $500 for an initial deposit. It’s a one-time offer for their first bet that is under the amount of $500. Applicants should be advised that this offer expires seven days from the time that it is first awarded. The standard regulations for the Australian government apply, regarding gambling – with proof of legal ID required.

What is the William Hill Website Design Like?
The website design is comprehensive, with convenient chat help available and apps easily accessible. Some might think that the minimalism makes it somewhat sparse, but its newest facelift, implemented in March 2014, also makes navigation on the website to be a fairly straightforward task.
Many of the new features were borne out of some interface features developed by William Hill and used on their website family. Betting slips are easy to carry and find while you navigate up and down, determining which match to place your bets on, and there’s quite a bit of space. Some may have trouble with the font size, but that too is easily adjustable.
Each match title you click on pulls us display odds, which saves a great deal of time when calling bets.
William Hill Racing Features – What’s on Offer?
People who love racing will be particularly fond of this aspect of the website. It might appear like just a conventional feature set, but wait until you click on one particular race – a succinct version of all upcoming races surface – allowing you to gauge your odds.
Bear in mind that all horse race matches in the UK, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland and South Africa, are available for you to choose from.
As you’re watching the returns of one race, you can also toggle the sleeve and find out information on other local races. I also particularly appreciated the “Sullo says” box that pops up and offers trader comments on each horse before you place your bets.
With live updates on the changing odds and even weather conditions on the track, you’re getting just about everything but the clatter of horse hooves as you place your bets.
Sports Features at William Hill – What’s on Offer?
Sports is the real bread and butter of the site, what led to its birth in the first place, and the latest design shows that they haven’t forgotten their roots.
Unfortunately, due to the Interactive Gambling Act, the feature that lets you bet on live games is not available in Australia via the internet. However, they offer a feature that lets Australians phone in bets, and I enjoyed paying very low minimums per race – the absolute lowest being $0.01 to wager and stay in a match.
You’re also given a sizable selection for AFL, NRL, cricket, and other Australian sports across the board.
William Hill Customer Service
Customer service is very prompt and professional – and the William Hill technicians are polite, working round the clock to help you resolve any issues you may be having. They also have genuine concern for their customers and offer advice that allows the users to bet safely and wisely.
Whatever you are looking for in an online bookmaker, you simply can’t go wrong with the world’s most reputable bookmaker, William Hill. We highly recommend William Hill alongside our other favourite bookmakers; Sportsbet, Neds, Ladbrokes and CrownBet.
