Thursday 12/6/25
We were disappointed with the Western Bulldogs last week when losing heavily to Hawthorn, but they should bounce back with a big win over St Kilda.
The Saints enjoyed a bye last week following a win over Melbourne, but the bye could have come at the worst time. They finally had some success, but playing a team like the Bulldogs will make life much harder for the home side.
We’re backing the Bulldogs to win and cover the –20.5 spread. They want to get back inside the top eight, and playing St Kilda should see that happen.

We jumped off the back of Hawthorn last week against the Bulldogs and we paid the price. We’re back on the bandwagon now after that impressive victory, and the Hawks could signal their premiership ambitions with a win.
Adelaide is playing excellent footy, having beaten Brisbane in a tight contest last week. However, we believe if Hawthorn plays its best, it’s good enough to beat Adelaide’s best.
Most of the early money has come for Hawthorn to win, and the $1.90 odds could continue to shorten throughout the week.

It wasn’t a vintage performance from Brisbane when losing to Adelaide last week, but despite not playing its best, it only went down narrowly against one of the form teams in the AFL.
Playing at home against GWS is a much better situation, and we expect the Lions to come out roaring at the Gabba. GWS is having a mixed year, sitting seventh on the ladder, and although the Giants have potential, they’re too inconsistent for our liking.
Backing Brisbane at home is always a good bet, so include them at –15.5.

Essendon has been covering spreads for punters recently, including last week against Carlton, so there’s no reason to jump off their backs.
The Bombers might be outclassed by Geelong on paper, but even when Essendon faces a big scoreline deficit, they stick to their guns to make a late run. That’s what they did against Brisbane and against Carlton, so we’re happy to stick with them.
Getting a +28.5 start is a healthy line, so include Essendon in AFL multis picks.

It was good to see North Melbourne get a win over West Coast last week, and although West Coast is an awful footy team, it should give the Kangaroos enough confidence to keep it close against Fremantle.
Fremantle has worked its way to eighth on the AFL ladder, and although it’s a much better team than North Melbourne, we don’t think there are 32.5 points between them.
It’s a big line for the underdog, and it might have found a spark after winning its third game of 2025.

It may have taken 13 weeks, but it was good to see Port Adelaide finally do something this year. The Power have been disappointing for the most part, but beating GWS should give them enough confidence to go on with it.
Melbourne has been playing solidly enough, but a recent loss to St Kilda isn’t a good look, and it will need to improve on that performance to beat Port Adelaide.
We’re not surprised by the money coming for the Power, who could defend home ground with a victory.

We have no problem backing teams like North Melbourne, but when it comes to West Coast, we can’t part with our hard-earned money.
They have just one win this year, and although the Eagles have pushed some teams close, losing to North Melbourne last week is a fair representation of their ability.
Carlton was too good for Essendon in Round 13, and it should see this game as a must-win. We predict the Blues to do it comfortably.
