We are patiently waiting for Brisbane to show their 2025 form this year, but it could come this week against the Magpies.
Punters cashed in with our Collingwood tip last week, but this is an ideal situation for Brisbane to show their worth against a quality club. If they don’t win well this week, then the bubble might have burst on the defending champions.
Covering a –16.5 spread isn’t easy, but we’re keeping the faith.

North Melbourne did enough to get past Essendon last week, and although they will need to improve to beat Carlton, we’re surprised by the odds.
We expected the Kangaroos to be favourites to win against a Carlton team coming off a tough loss, so the market might be around the wrong way.
The $2.31 odds are worth including in picks but take the +8.5 line for safety.

It hasn’t been the luckiest start to the year for Adelaide, who could easily have a much better record. However, a victory over Fremantle would put them in the right direction.
Playing at Adelaide Oval helps the Crows, and although Fremantle have looked good and comfortably sit inside the top three, they should struggle on Good Friday.
Take the –3.5 line for Adelaide, as it could move on game day.

Saturday 4/4/26
Port Adelaide had a good chance to post a win last week, and although they didn’t capitalise, playing Richmond is a good chance to pick up a win.
Richmond sits comfortably in 18th spot on the AFL ladder, and we don’t see them getting too far off the bottom. That’s why we’re surprised with the –10.5 line, which is too good to turn down for Port Adelaide.
Punters should expect the Power to win by double digits.

Credit West Coast for playing well so far this season, but they could get a reality check against the Swans on Saturday night.
The Swans look to bounce back following a tough loss to Hawthorn, but having a bye week under their belt only helps their chances of beating West Coast.
There is a sizable class advantage with Sydney, so include them in your AFL picks this week.

Sunday 5/4/26
We have been impressed by Gold Coast, who lead the competition, and we don’t see that changing this week.
Melbourne showed promise when beating Carlton last week, but the level of opposition wasn’t there. Gold Coast is a much harder team to beat, which is why they are –20.5 favourites to win on the road.
It’s a fair line from bookmakers, and it could move to around –23.5 during the week.

The Bulldogs are the much better in this matchup, but getting +70.5 is a hefty start for the underdogs.
The Bombers only need to play with some sense of passion to cover the spread, and we’re happy to give them another chance to show up.
It’s all about how well they start, so look for Essendon to kick a couple of early goals to get them into the game and make it competitive.

Monday 6/4/26
It’s a cracking game on Easter Monday as Hawthorn and Geelong meet at the MCG.
Bookmakers have Hawthorn at $1.55 to win, and it’s tough to disagree with those odds. They have looked impressive so far, sitting in fifth on the AFL ladder, and they should fancy their chances of beating Geelong.
The Cats looked better last week when beating Adelaide, but this is a much harder game, and our AFL Round 4 picks have Hawthorn covering the spread.
