Brisbane vs. Hawthorn Predictions
—
Best Bet
Hawthorn hasn’t been an easy team to follow in 2025, but they lost at home to Brisbane earlier this year, and we think it can return the favour.
The Hawks bolstered their finals hopes with four wins from their last five games, including wins over Collingwood and Melbourne over the last two weeks. Those wins hold them in good stead, and holding Melbourne to 56 points was a good defensive effort.
Brisbane has traded wins with losses over the last five games, so it hasn’t been overly consistent. We’re not prepared to take the $1.60 odds for Brisbane to win, and there is much better value for the Hawks at $2.35.

Same Game Multi
We’re tipping a high-scoring game on Sunday, so include over 167.5 points in your AFL same game multis. They combined for 153 points earlier this year, but that was an anomaly, as they usual score plenty of points.
Points could come from Nick Watson and Zac Bailey. Watson has seven goals from his last five games, and although there are better scoring options for Hawthorn, he’s paying the best value odds at $2.25.
Bailey looks to post four consecutive 2+ goal games, and we’re happy to back him. He is a $2.03 chance to score twice for Brisbane, so include him in AFL predictions.

Best Value Bet
When Hawthorn wins, it typically gets out to a strong start in the first quarter. That’s why we like the Hawks to win wire-to-wire, which pays a generous $3.80.
They have led after the first quarter in most of their wins, and they could jump out to a lead against the Lions are never look back. We would have been happy to take around $3 for an all-the-way win from the visitors.
