It’s a young and inexperienced team, but that often produces upset wins. They have had some tough games recently, but the Bombers covered the spread against Brisbane and Carlton before being well-beaten by Geelong and Fremantle.
Gold Coast haven’t been overly amazing, losing three of its last four games, so Essendon could pounce and make a game of it at home. Take the +22.5 line, as it’s better than expected.

Peter Wright is the most important player for Essendon. He needs to get shot attempts on goal, and after scoring only one goal against Fremantle, he’s looking to bounce back in a big way on Saturday.
His earlier performances were much better, including nine goals from his previous four games. That form is good enough to recommend against Gold Coast, and getting $1.81 for 2+ goals is an excellent price.
Ben Long pays only $1.57, but he should also score 2+ goals. He scored two goals against Melbourne, and he’ll look to continue that form against Essendon.
