Hawthorn vs. Sydney Predictions
—
Best Bet
There has been stacks of money for Hawthorn to win consecutive games after hammering Essendon last week. However, despite it being a dominant performance, Sydney doesn’t deserve to be +15.5 underdogs.
The Swans are 2-0 after beating Carlton and Brisbane with ease, and the signing of Charlie Curnow has worked wonders. He gives Sydney a much-needed boost in the forward 50, and he’s why we’re backing Sydney to cover the spread.
We priced this game very evenly, and although Hawthorn is a quality side coming off a big win, it should be a physical contest, and that favours Sydney. It could come down to the final quarter, so the +15.5 start is too generous to overlook.

Same Game Multi
Curnow didn’t kick a goal last week and Sydney still won easily. We can’t see him going scoreless again, especially after kicking three goals in his first game for the Swans. We’re taking the generous odds for Sydney to kick 3+ goals.
Nick Watson comes off a four-goal performance for Hawthorn, and although the $1.63 odds are short, he’s a good multi bet inclusion. We expect Watson to be one of Hawthorn’s top goal scorers of the night.
Their last two meetings have gone under the total, but it’s set at 185.5 for a reason. It should be a high-scoring contest with plenty of goals to celebrate.

Best Value Bet
The best possible start for Sydney would be a Curnow goal, and he could deliver for his new team.
The former Carlton star comes off a quiet game, and he’s keen to rebound from that performance with a key first goal of the game.
Punters get $9.50, which is a better price than expected from bookies. We priced him at $7.50, so he’s a good AFL value bet.
