St Kilda vs. Western Bulldogs Predictions

Best Bet
Winning games hasn’t come easily for the Bulldogs recently, dropping their last two games to Hawthorn and Geelong. However, those were hard opponents, and much harder than playing the Saints, who sit in 12th on the AFL ladder.
There is more class with the Bulldogs, who are good enough to make a run at the top four if they play well. It all starts on Thursday against St Kilda, and they have beaten easier teams by big margins throughout 2025.
They scored a 131-41 win over Port Adelaide and a 127-36 win over Essendon, so those are exceptional form guides for this game. Covering a –20.5 spread isn’t easy, but there are plenty of points in the Bulldogs, and they’re good enough to put the Saints away comfortably.

Two Bulldogs players who need to get back to their best form is Aaron Naughton and Rhylee West. Naughton didn’t score last week when losing to Hawthorn, but he scored three goals prior to that against Geelong.
He hasn’t been the most consistent player on the field, but when he has a good game, he typically scores 2+ goals with ease. Therefore, we’re taking the $1.95 for Naughton to score at least twice, along with teammate West.
West has only one goal from his last two games, but he scored eight goals in his previous three games, which is a better form guide. He pays $1.98 with bookmakers.
We’re also including over 169.5 points. They combined for 183 points earlier this season, which followed a 184-point total in 2024. The Bulldogs won 127-56 at home in April, so that’s an excellent form guide for this game.

Best Value Bet
Anything better than $2 is a good price for the Bulldogs to win wire-to-wire, and we would have considered something around $1.80.
The Bulldogs are clearly the better team in this matchup, and they won’t take long to get firing on all cylinders against St Kilda. We expect them to have a sizable first quarter and halftime lead, before kicking away in the second half.
