Sydney vs. Adelaide Predictions
—
Best Bet
Consistency has been tough for Sydney and Adelaide, but we’re surprised by the –5.5 line for the Crows. They play better at home, but Sydney comes off a 131-78 loss to Melbourne, and that’s a terrible form guide.
The Swans also have losses to the likes of Essendon, so we can’t put them in our picks. Adelaide has been more reliable, and it’s currently inside the top four. That form, including recent wins over Carlton, Port Adelaide, and West Coast, is good enough to put away the struggling Swans.
Getting a –5.5 line is much better than we expected, and although it pays to be wary of lines that are too good to be true, we’re jumping on this line with confidence.

Same Game Multi
We would have liked better odds than $1.50 for Riley Thilthorpe to score 2+ goals, but he’s worth including in same game multis. He had two goals last week, and he should get ample opportunity to score on Sydney.
Punters get better odds for Josh Rachele to score 2+ goals. The Crow scored five goals last week in his seasons-best performance, and his confidence levels should be through the roof. He has 11 goals from his last five games, so getting $2.25 odds is much better than expected.
Our same game multis include under 176.5. Sydney could struggle to kick goals, as they did when scoring just 78 points last week. They have recent totals of 78, 78, 63, and 87 points, which adds weight to including under 176.5 in multis.

Best Value Bet
Adelaide should come out humming and lead after every quarter, so the $2.75 odds are worth including as a value AFL bet.
Sydney hasn’t been starting its games well, which was the case against Melbourne last week, and this Adelaide team isn’t easy to score on.
The market suggests Sydney will bounce back in this game and show up, but after what we’ve seen, Adelaide should have far too many guns as they look to turn around a three-game losing streak to the Swans.
