West Coast vs. GWS Predictions
—
Best Bet
West Coast looked good for one half last week against Collingwood, but reality set in early in the third quarter. The Eagles were blown off the park late, and although they put up a good fight, chalk it up as another loss for the struggling franchise.
Looking to take advantage of playing the worst team in the AFL is GWS, which has found form with four wins from its last five games, including recent wins over Gold Coast and Brisbane. It was a good Queensland swing for the Giants, who should have no problem traveling to Perth and taking down the Eagles.
Getting a –22.5 line is generous for a team that could win by 50 points, so take the line before it moves throughout the week.

Same Game Multi
Scoring goals comes easily for Jesse Hogan, and he’s licking his lips at the opportunity to play West Coast. He scored only two goals last week against Gold Coast, but he banged six goals against Brisbane, which highlighted his talent.
Punters get $1.73 for Hogan to kick 3+ goals, and we would have been happy to take $1.60. He is the Giants’ best goal-scoring player, and he should lead by example on Friday night.
Liam Baker could be kept busy at the back for West Coast, and we’re including him at short odds to have 20+ disposals. He comes off recent totals including 29, 20, 21, and 35 disposals, so he should go 20+ with ease.
Over 165.5 is included in our AFL same game multi. They combined for 183 points earlier this year when GWS won 132-51, and it could be a similar score this week.

Best Value Bet
As their meeting in April suggests, GWS has a sizable edge over West Coast. We don’t see playing in Perth as a big deterrent from backing the Giants, and they’re good enough to cover the alternative line of –49.5.
They won by 81 points in their most recent meeting, and although West Coast showed improvement last week, it should get blown out of the water by the superior team.
This bet is risky, but the odds are worth it.
