2026 Houston Open Golf Tips & Predictions

We have expert betting tips for The Houston Open this week, which features an even field of PGA Tour superstars.

Australia’s Min Woo Lee headlines betting markets after Scottie Scheffler pulled out on Wednesday due to the birth of his child. That makes it a wide-open tournament, and punters get value odds throughout the field.

Our golf bets this week include our best bet and best value bets for The Houston Open, where Jake Knapp is our top pick.

Houston Open Tips & Predictions

Best Bet

Jake Knapp @ $21.00

We have backed Knapp many times this year, and although he’s yet to win, he often shows up in these types of tournaments.

It’s not the strongest PGA Tour field you’ll ever see, which is why the American is only paying $21 to win. The odds aren’t as good as expected, but if he plays well, he’s good enough to beat the likes of Lee and second favourite Chris Gotterup.

It’s good to see betting support for him, and he should give punters a good sight in Houston.

Next Best

Chris Gotterup @ $18.00

We can’t leave Chris Gotterup out of our golf picks this week. He’s already a winner in 2026, and he often goes under the radar.

The American showed his class when winning the Scottish Open last year before playing well in the Open Championship and is arguably the best-performed American behind Scottie Scheffler in the last six months.

We priced him at $18 to win, so bookmakers have his odds spot on. He’s a four-time PGA Tour winner, and there aren’t too many golfers in the field that can say that.

Best Value Bet

Marco Penge @ $26.00

It won’t take long for Marco Penge to win on the PGA Tour, especially with the fields being diluted recently. He finished T4 at the Valspar Championship last week, and his form on the DP World Tour before coming to the US was excellent.

He knows how to win golf tournaments, and we think he’s way over the odds. We rated him $20 to win, and he should pick up a win in 2026.

It’s only a matter of time before the Brit wins on the PGA Tour, and he won’t get a better chance to breakthrough than at the Houston Open this week.

Best Roughie

Ricky Castillo @ $56.00

Ricky Castillo is already a PGA Tour winner this year, having taken out the Puerto Rico Open. He didn’t face a tough field to win, but the same goes for this week.

The 24-year-old should be confident following that win, and we’re surprised by the $56 odds. A recent winner shouldn’t be paying that high with bookmakers, and those odds could firm significantly throughout the week.

It’s not uncommon for first-time winners to back it up a few weeks later, so include Castillo in golf picks this week.

Top 10

Stephan Jaeger @ $6.00

We cashed last week with Xander Schauffele at $2.60, and we have found much bigger odds of $6 for Stephan Jaeger this week.

The German also recorded a top 10 finish last week when posting a T7 finish at the Valspar Championship, and that followed a made cut at the Players, which is a much harder tournament than the Houston Open.

He won the 2024 Houston Open, so getting back to this course only adds to his appeal. The $6 odds are worth jumping on before money comes for him.
