Garrard’s Gold Bullion Final Form Guide & Tips
(1) Irish Bill (Best Bet – $2.30)
Enjoying a winning streak, including two impressive wins at Q 2 Parklands at his last two starts.
The two-year-old son of Shima Shine owns 11 wins and seven placings from 20 starts overall, and his two length win over Daysea’s Rory was all class.
He ran the best qualifying time, so he goes on top.
(2) Cumbria Chrissy (Best Roughie – ($11.00)
Second behind Pop’s Maestro in the heat, but she should get all favours from an inside barrier.
If Irish Bill goes straight to the front, that will allow Cumbria Chrissy to get a nice drag behind him, so he’s worth including at double-figure odds.
(3) My Boy Bingo ($15.00)
He has been all around the mark recently, but he will need to find a few lengths to be competitive at Group 1 level.
(4) Vista Weird ($12.00)
He is running well with four wins from his last six starts, and we liked the way he picked them up late in the heat.
It’s a red-hot field, but he could enter first four calculations.
(5) Winsome Jet ($4.80)
12 wins from 20 starts, and he couldn’t have been more impressive when winning his heat.
He ran a solid time without being amazing, but he didn’t jump the best, which likely affected his winning time.
We’re not leaving him out of our Gold Bullion picks.
(6) Canya Mayhem (Best Each Way – $3.20)
He’s the biggest danger to the favourite, following a blistering heat win in 29.37. It wasn’t as quick as Irish Bill’s, but he can hit the ground running.
It was also his first try at the track and distance, so having that run under his belt will only help. Include him in picks at the current price.
(7) Pop’s Maestro ($11.00)
A good heat winner, but with so much speed on his inside, he could struggle to get around them on the first turn.
That could see him get shuffled back, and he won’t have much chance of picking them up.
(8) Tarawi Buster ($41.00)
Second behind Vista Weird in the heat. It was a solid run, but he could suffer the same fate as Pop’s Maestro.
(9) Avengement ($14.00)
He had his chance to beat Winsome Jet last start, but he couldn’t muster over the concluding stages. He’s unlikely to run.
(10) Daysea’s Rory ($5.50)
The 28-time winner would be a chance if he made the final, but that’s unlikely to happen. He blew it at the start in the heat, so don’t include him in picks.
