First race in 1d 0h The Northern Districts Cup Final takes centre stage on Saturday at Shepparton, and we look at the best races from Shepparton and Ballarat, which provides some action following a huge day of thoroughbred action on Derby Day.
Shepparton Tips
Race 3. (19:13) Ken Murphy Memorial (390m)
#7 - Deb Cabang

Shooting for three consecutive wins is Deb Cabang, who won her last two at Shepparton.
The three-year-old daughter of Hooksy is a three-time winner at Shepparton, and having that track experience is ideal.
Look for money to come her way on race night.
Stake: 1 Unit
Race 5. (19:55) Kel Tremellen Memorial (450m)
#4 - One Sugar

Boasting two wins and two placings from five starts is One Sugar, who looks to turn around her worst performance last time out.
That came at this track, but her form prior was good, and she can put this field away with a good beginning.
Each-way odds should be available on race day.
Stake: 1 Unit
Race 8. (20:53) Sportsbet Feed (450m)
#1 - Immobiliser

Immobiliser owns four wins from seven starts, and he doesn’t need to improve much to handle this field.
The one-year-old son of Bernardo should appreciate getting the inside draw, and two of her wins have come at the track and distance.
We’re not expecting big odds, so include him in multis.
Stake: 2.5 Units
Race 10. (21:39) Northern Districts Cup Final (450m)
#1 - Storm Shadow @ $3.80

Storm Shadow has made a good start to her career with four wins and four placings, including a placing at the track and distance last start.
The two-year-old daughter of Fernando Bale gets all favours off the inside draw, and that could be the winning of the race.
She’s a slick customer, so put her on top.
Stake: 1.5 Units
Ballarat Tips
Race 2. (18:26) A1 Signage 1-2 Wins (390m)
#1 - Paw Jamila

Paw Jamila turned her long winless run around last time out when scoring at Bendigo, and she could go back-to-back.
She had been a frustrating watch for punters, but now she has confidence, and the inside draw only adds to her appeal.
Look for each-way odds in this race.
Stake: 1 Unit
Race 4. (19:04) Eureka Concrete (450m)
#5 - Fine Tune

Fine Tune produced a good effort to win at Ballarat last start, and she’s another runner good enough to go back-to-back.
The one-year-old daughter of Bernardo won by 2.5 lengths, and although it wasn’t against a tough field, there isn’t much depth to this field.
The time was good, so she’s worth sticking with.
Stake: 1 Unit
Race 7. (19:59) Ballarat Function Centre (545m)
#7 - Son of Witchy

Son of Whichy looked good earlier this preparation when winning three consecutive races, and that form is good enough to recommend.
His last two starts resulted in fourths, but they were solid efforts, and we expect his best form to return against this company.
He’s a 10-time winner overall, so class is on his side.
Stake: 1.5 Units
Race 8. (20:23) Alsop and Co Catering (450m)
#2 - Elevate

Elevate had been struggling with his form, but he has turned things around with a recent win and placing.
The three-year-old won at Ballarat before placing at Geelong, and something close to that should be enough to beat this field.
It’s an even contest, but trap two is ideal.
Stake: 1 Unit
