Albury racing tips

Race 1. (13:50) The Essential Utensel Maiden (1175m)

#7 – Tassy Fox @ $1.95

Tassy Fox is nearing a win after four placings from her last five starts, and this isn’t a deep maiden field.

The four-year-old mare by Tassort should get every chance in the run from the draw, and being on the one-week back up is ideal.

Take the odds before they shorten close to start time.

Stake: 2.5 Units

Race 2. (14:25) MLM Electrical Contractors C2 (1000m)

#2 – Brutal Eyes @ $7.00

The four-year-old mare showed good form at the end of her last campaign, including two wins at Canberra.

She owns two wins and three placings from nine starts, and although it’s a tricky field, she has more upside than most.

Punters get value odds to enjoy.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 3. (15:00) Southern Asset Services Maiden (1000m)

#4 – Magic Royale @ $3.30

Looking to make a winning debut is Magic Royale, who showed good speed when winning a trial at Albury.

The three-year-old filly by Royal Meeting won by six lengths, so it was an impressive performance, and it could translate to race day.

Late money is expected to come for her, so take the odds.

Stake: 2 Units

Race 4. (15:35) Allure Lash & Beauty Bar C1 (2000m)

#6 – Hells Spirit @ $6.00

Hells Spirit broke maidens with a win here two starts back before finishing fourth last time out, which are solid form guides.

The three-year-old son of Hellbent has had plenty of experience at Albury with six starts, and that bodes well for another tidy effort.

The odds make him a worthwhile play against an even field.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 5. (16:10) Kiewa Valley Water Maiden (1400m)

#3 – Masakari @ $4.40

Punters get each-way odds for Masakari, who improved to finish third at Wangaratta last time out.

It was a good performance from the three-year-old son of Fierce Impact, who was always going to improve with racing under his belt.

Getting the inside draw is enough to take him close.

Stake: 1 Unit

Race 6. (16:50) Yackandandah Park BM66 (1175m)

#7 – Olatunde @ $2.50

Olatunde shouldn’t remain a one-time winner for much longer, and he looked good when placing at Wangaratta last time out.

The three-year-old son of Farnan owns a win and two placings from seven starts, and his turn-of-foot is superior to most in this grade.

We’re happy with the odds, so include him in all bets.

Stake: 3 Units

Race 7. (17:30) Wello’s Plumbing BM58 (1600m)

#12 – Under the Hat @ $10.00

Under the Hat is never too far away from the prize, including a fifth at Seymour last time out.

It was a solid effort from the five-year-old mare, who owns two wins and five placings from just 19 starts.

That’s a good enough record to recommend taking the $10 odds.

Stake: 1 Unit
